“Excellent Hotel in Excellent City”

Very friendly and comfortable 3* hotel. We stayed in several cities on our recent trip to Italy and this was the best hotel of the bunch. Great breakfast too. Would've scored 5/5 across the board but the air con was a bit weedy - and boy, it was hot!

“Zanhotel Il Canale”

I would thoroughly recommend this hotel. It offers everything you would expect from a 3 star; personable service, cleanliness and large comfortable en suite rooms. Situated only 5 minutes bimble from the piazza maggiore (center of the city) it is perfect for anyone without transport. A taxi from the airport should be no more than about Euro20-25 (as at Apr 07). Great fun and would deffinately stay again.

“Highly recommended”

The Zanhotel Il Canale is a very pleasant small hotel within easy reach of the centre of Bologna. We had 3 excellent meals in different restaurants all less than 200m from the hotel. The breakfast was very good, the hotel staff were friendly and our room was quite large and very clean, although there was no bath. The hotel only has 31 rooms so it was quiet and somewhat cosy. We were on the top floor where there was a small roof terrace. When we come back to Bologna, we will certainly stay here again.

“Very Reasonable Hotel”

Returned from our stay at Bologna a few days ago. Made a reservation with the hotel based on the reviews of other travellers. Please be asure that the positive reviews are not ill founded. The hotle is located within minutes of Via d. Independenza where the Aerobus stops. It was very flexible with our check in since we arrived early in the day. The room and the hotel itself was extremely well kept in terms of cleaniness. The staff was also helpful with advices about restaurants and places of interests. Lastly security was very good as well. There is constantly a member of staff at the reception. We noticed that if the reception is not staffed, the door is actually locked. We also got questioned every time there was a new staff that we have not met before to make sure we were actually staying at the hotel.

This is a lovely hotel in the best of locations. A five minute walk from the Piazza Duomo. A short walk from the station. Great restaurants two minutes away from the hotel.

“nice little hotel”

very central location, but still in a quiet side road. i had a single room, and i had no complaints at all. would definitely return.
