“Great location”

The hotel is very well situated, being close to the centre of the historic heart of Bologna. All the main sites of interest are within easy walking distance. There are good restaurants nearby and the recommendations made by the desk staff proved to be very good. Our only grumble is the lack of coffee or tea making facilities in our room, a minor quibble.

This hotelhas the following advantages: convenient location, reasonable price, excellent breakfast,comfortable and clean rooms. Staff was very helpful however it would be nice of them if they said good morning or smiled when you had eye contact.

“Well Located and Stylish”

Traveling by train the closeness to the station was a boon. The hotel was modern and clean. The breakfasts were really great... many choices of fruit, yogurt, cereal, meats, cheeses and of course bread, and pastries. The staff was helpful and accommodating. The hotel is centrally located with walking distances of many historical places and shopping and restaurants.

the hotel is in a great location. very central. the breakfast was excellent. but the room was very small and no bath, only shower. not a 4 star hotel. o.k. for a 3 star hotel

“Ideal location”

The hotel is in an ideal location, only about 5-10 minutes walk from the main square, Piazza Maggiore. It is good value for money. The rooms were clean and comfortable. However, it would be good if the toiletries provided consisted of a shower gel. Breakfast was adequate. Would certainly consider staying at the hotel again. Bologna is a great place for a city break, and as it is an university city it has a vibrant atmosphere about it.

“Bologna's Zanhotel Tre Vecchi - Good location”

The Tre Vecchi is in a good location. 20 minutes from the airport, a 10 minute walk from the train station and just a few steps away from all the shopping and restaurants. The hotel is on a main street so it can get noisy, sometimes in the wee hours of the morning. The hotel itself is very nice. The room and bathroom are by European standard, on the small side, but very clean. The air conditioner was an issue, it was not cold enough and when we complained to the staff, they said we (United States) are used to the a/c being colder than they are and that their system cannot get any colder. We had very hot days while there (One day it reached 100 degrees), so after the second day, we opend the window at night and that was our saving grace. Breakfast was just ok, no hot food at the buffet. The staff was very pleasant except for the guys behind the front desk, they could have been more friendly. I would recommend this hotel only for the location and the price.

“Perfect for our needs - a good base”

The hotel was fine. Clean, refurbished rooms (not all the rooms are refurbished yet though), comfortable beds, clean working bathroom, air conditioning, good continental breakfast. It's basically an upmarket bed and breakfast - nothing fancy like a bar - but perfect for our needs: very central, right on the main shopping street and close to a huge choice of restaurants serving delicious food, a short walk to the main square, 5 minutes walk to the train station, and 100-200 yards from the Airport shuttle bus stop. Bologna is a lovely city itself, and well located to explore northern Italy. We went to Venice (2hrs by train), Florence (1 hr), Parma (1hr) and there was a lot more we could have done had we had time.
