Bolton, Manchester Independent Hotels

Bolton, 10 miles north-west of Manchester, is home to the neoclassical Bolton Town Hall, which opened in 1873. An earlier addition to the town is Ye Olde Man and Scythe pub, which dates from 1251, and is one of the oldest public houses in Britain. Bolton Wanderers play their football at the Reebok Stadium, and comedian Peter Kay has based much of his work on the town and its people.
