“Buddy Dive October 2010”

If you are going to Bonaire, this is the way to go. If you never left the hotel and just ate at the on-site dining, and dove on the "house reef", you would have the best diving vacation of your life. Getting out to see the island, visit other locales, and dive other interesting places is just icing on top of the cake. Buddy Dive had great staff, great rooms, fantastic diving support services, and was beautiful. Highly recommended.

“Buddy Dive Resort - Bonaire”

My husband & I took our first trip to Bonaire 4/11/09-4/19/09 and stayed at Buddy Dive Resort. Prior to arrival, I had contacted the resort regarding questions we had concerning a truck rental, airport transfers and their unlimited shore diving. The responses back from the reservations desk were VERY prompt and friendly. Upon our arrival which was extremely early in the morning, our room was ready for us to use immediately! The dive operations there are awesome! Everyone was professional, helpful, friendly! Access to diving was easy and right off the edge of the reef. The drive thru air tank facility was perfect for loading up tanks to go off site to other diving sites on the island. The food & wait staff were excellent! We are planning our return trip back to Buddy Dive for April 2010 and would receommend this place to all our friends. Bonaire is truly a diver's paradise and very suitable for non-divers as well!

“Great place for scuba diving”

Rooms are clean and spacious, with good storage space. Some are still equipped with old noisy air conditioners, but overall impression is definitely positive. Scuba diving shop staff is friendly and helpful.

“Buddy Dive Resort Bonaire”

I have stayed at this hotel twice a year for the last 6 years. I love this place. I just returned from there 4/22/06 and they have painted the rooms and completed minor repairs (new light fixtures etc). The rooms are clean, well furnished and comfortable. The bathrooms/showers need renovation as mold and mildew continue to be a problem. The hot water heater in the 3 bedroom is small (20 gallon I think) and is not nearly enough for 4-6 people. The beds are all singles but can be paired for a double. The beds are somewhat firm. I always eat at local restaurants so I do not utilize the kitchen. A microwave, gas stove and refrigerator are standard. The staff are extremely helpful and pleasant and complaints are addressed quickly. Clearly this is the best dive operation on the island. The drive-thru air/nitrox fill station is primo !! Since most of the diving on the island is shore diving it makes exchanging tanks a breeze. No more hauling tanks from the dive shop up to your vehicle. The Buddy Dive site just off the doc is good but definitely shows the signs of frequent divers. But this is an excellent location for that first "is my weight right" dive. The dive shop staff are exceptional. The restaurant on grounds (The Lion's Den) is wonderful. It offers fantastic views of the sunset and great food too. The pool bar is equally nice and is a good place for lunch between dives. I have stayed at several other places on this island but I definitely prefer Buddy Dive.

“Loved Buddy Dive”

The staff was friendly and accommodating. The dock easily accessible. Tiki bar great for lunch and drinks. Very pleased with Lion's Den dinners. Diving was beautiful and great snorkeling right off dock along shore. Great for an inexperienced diver as myself who has ear trouble, dives were not deep. Really enjoyed ourselves. Was very laid-back and relaxing. Also highly recommend It Rains Fishes for dinner in town and tapas place whose name escapes me.

“Great times and very kind people”

We really enjoyed our time in this resort. People were incredibly kind and willing to help. DAE, the airline we were traveling with cancelled all flights Curacao-Bonaire and we arrived 1 day late to our vacations. They kept us our room and made sure we got our return flight confirmed with another airline. Thanks for all your help and for making our stay as good as possible! The Cosbys

“Perfect location for diving”

My husband and I spent 5 days at Buddy Dive. They have a great location and for divers it is very convenient. You can just jump into the water at any time. Our room was very big and clean. It had a kitchen, a dining room and living room. The hotel is very old and they are going through some construction, so there are areas that are not very well kept.. This hotel is not the usual resort with all the amenities, it is very basic but functional, so you need to go with that mindset. The restaurant has a wonderful view and prices are very decent. The staff overall is friendly but could be more proactive and give more information to first time guests how their hotel works. We just felt that we had to get information in bit and pieces. Besides that, we had a great time and we will go back. There are lots of dive sites along the coast.

“Best diving services”

Very convenient for diving. Diving services are great. Room is spacious, but old, restrooms are not very comfortable. Mattress is as hard as a board. A/C is only in bedrooms, but new and work great. Kitchen is usefull and can get you through the week so you do not have to go out. Food is very similar to the rest of the Island - Passable not exiting.

“Great hotel, great island, lousy airline schedule!”

The staff at this hotel couldn't be nicer and the accommodations are clean and comfortable. The resort is self-contained, and you could spend your entire trip without leaving the grounds, but it's well worth visiting the sights and other dive/snorkel sights of the island. Worst thing about the trip was the arrival and departure times of the flights from Newark, which don't coincide with the check-out, check-in times of any hotel, especially one that's fully booked. Arriving at 5:30 AM the staff did what they could to accommodate us, but our room wasn't ready until noon. Being exhausted from the overnight trip we weren't yet ready to jump into activities and spent the morning sleeping at reception.
