Great location for outdoor fun.

Posted Jul 16, 2014
Cons: I did hear "foot traffic" noise from the unit above mine, although, I do not think that is fixable.
Location: Visit Grandfather Mountain, The Blowing Rock, the town Blowing Rock, Mast General Store, Linville Cavern and take a short hike to Elk River Waterfall.
This resort is actually a time share/club condo community, but you do not need to be a member of the club to stay here. The location is great for those that like the outdoors. There is plenty of site-seeing to do in Banner Elk and in towns nearby. The town Blowing Rock was a favorite. Also available in nearby mountain towns is plenty of hiking trails, rafting, zip lining, and more. The staff is very knowledgeable about local attractions and there is print information available. If you just want to sit and enjoy the fresh, mountain air, the resort is a great place to relax. There are plenty of quiet locations on the grounds, even though there might be kids and adults playing tennis, mini golf and basketball. Game equipment is provided, but you must bring your own fishing pole if you want to fish in the pond. My room was very clean, but housekeeping did miss cleaning out coffee grinds left in the coffee machine by previous guests. The bed was very comfortable. The kitchen does come with a tea kettle, pots, pans, utensils and plates for four. Disappointing was that there was no wi-fi in most units. The staff explained that they had just upgraded the service, but something went wrong and the service provider was working to fix the service. The 5 nights we were there, we did not see any cable service trucks. You can use wi-fi in the lobby, but that closes at 8 pm, so it is a bit inconvenient.

Best Family Vacation EVER

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Everything
Cons: Too much chemical in the pool. It would bleach anything with cotton including bleach towels.
Location: Secluded...yet close to lots of attractions.
Wonderful place to stay. Staff went out of their way to be of help. The activities on July 4th were above expectations. We were there with our 3 children and their families and had a great time. The only time we left was to watch fireworks and go to the grocery store. We are already planning our next stay at Blue Ridge!!!

Great place in the mountains

Pros: Clean spacious suite
This was our second time there. Again, awesome. The rooms again were spectacular. Best buck for you money! Since there was a kitchen...we didn't have to eat out every meal. Close & convenient to Lees McRae College. Would be great for longer stays too as they have many amenities.

Great Getaway in spite of

Posted Jun 26, 2014
Pros: The room had everything you need pots pans if you want to cook, enough sleeping space, convenient location, great out door activities
Cons: Check in staff could have been more welcoming and informative
Location: Grandfather Mountain 6 miles away w/Mile High Swinging Bridge the Park was worth the fees
This was our first trip to Grandfather Mountain. A great escape from the heat and hustle of the beach views were still spectacular even in the off season-summer vs fall or winter. A bit of local racial prejudiced lingering in the air as we were called a racial slur by some road travelers while outside enjoying the enmities of the resort and an over all coldness in customer service at the local bank and drug store however we did not choose the location because we wanted to fraternize with the locals so in spite of the the expected display of ignorance of the town folk, the resort was quite nice. There is a small pond w/paddle boats and a few small fish, corn hole, tennis court in door pool and hot tub. The grounds were well kept the room had plenty of sleeping space a queen bed two twins and a fold out sofa and a full kitchen. Very relaxing

Nice condo in the mountain

Posted Jun 15, 2014
Pros: It was more like a home away from home not like a hotel and so many activities to do right there.
Location: Fishing, paddle boat , pool , tennis , mini golf , and more
Great time sharing time with my family while I worked in Boone. Short drive so spend time with my daughter as her summer break started. Got to go swimming in a nice indoor pool that had a hot tub and sauna. Place to go fishing right in your back yard .

My experience was great! There was plenty of things to do there. Other shopping areas are so close by, including grandfather mountain and blowing rock. This hotel was extremely clean and well decorated. I loved the amount of space, this is not an ordinary hotel room.

Nice resort in the mountains

Posted Jun 9, 2014
Pros: Location, layout
Cons: The "patio" wouldn't really accommodate two chairs side by side without blocking the door. It was more of a landing to the steps.
Location: Very close to Grandfather Mountain and a shopping center with Food Lion , video/DVD rental store and restaurants.
We loved the suite we stayed in. Nice location with lots to do without leaving the resort.
