“Better Than Expected”

I rented a suite in this inn to host a wearable art trunk show. The staff was accommodating. The rooms were spacious with a HUGE bathroom! Normally I wouldn't care about the size of a bathroom, but the space provided a well lit place for my customers to try on clothing. Conveniently, the toilet and tub were in a separate room . Another unexpected feature of this suite were the patio doors in both the living room and bedroom walking out onto a large patio with tables and chairs overlooking a pond. The inn is a few block walk to restaurants and shopping. I love staying in a place where I never have to get in the car until it's time to go home. i will definitely stay here again.

“First Mountain Trip”

Everything was very great. The ONLY thing that could be better. Is that the Air Conditioner was loud. But the Staff, Room, Location..was GREAT...

“"Romantic getaway"”

Our stay at the Meadowbrook Inn was charming on a beautiful fall weekend. The room was very clean and comfy. We stayed in the King Deluxe with a sun room and dbl jacuzzi...very romantic. The downside was we were very confused as to wear to check in as there was no signs giving any directions so we did some unnecessary walking around the grounds. We were also in the annex building which is not attached to the main Inn so we did not have easy access to the indoor pool or breakfast. They need to have more directional signs around so you know how to get into the main building. But other than those little discomforts it is a very nice place to stay. Within walking distance to downtown Blowing Rock and all the quaint little shops and great restaurants.

“Lots of nice extras”

The location is great - everything was in easy walking distance. The whirlpool tub has two shower heads, which was very nice. There is a sun room off of the bedroom which was a nice place to drink and chat. The bed is spacious and comfortable, and the gas fireplace was a nice touch. There were extra blankets in the closet. The only real downside was that every time someone entered or left the hall, the hall door shut loudly (despite a sign on the door requesting people to close it quietly). This kept waking us up repeatedly in the morning, and was annoying. Since people aren't going to consider the sign's request, perhaps something could be done to make the doors shut more quietly on their own. I would definitely stay here again.

“Disappointed”

The hotel is in a great location, the grounds are nice, the room was satisfactory for our one night stay. The beds were comfortable and it was clean. The staff was helpful with information about dining etc. However, the AC was so noisy you had to turn up the volume on the TV every time the fan came on. Also there was water running in the bathroom wall all night long. Both of those things made for a lousy night's sleep. They were aware of the water noise and said it was just the plumbing. We will probably not stay there again unless we hear they have updated their AC and plumbing systems.

“Overall, very pleasing stay”

We stayed in a king suite for 1 night. The suite was spacious and very nicely priced. The staff at the front desk were very nice and also very helpful, allowing us to check in early. The mattress was not as soft as I am used to. The other furnishings were very comfortable. The air conditioning very noisy, and I woke up each time it cut off and on during the night. The only thing that dissuade me from staying here again was that the room did not have a safety lock or deadbolt. Normally this would not be an issue, especially as I was comfortable with the surroundings. However, I have a toddler who is SUPER active and he enjoyed running to the door and opening it and scampering to the hallway! I kept a close eye on him as he was running around and therefore kept him from going out of our room. I would have appreciated a safety mechanism to keep the door closed and would not stay there again in the near future due to this one issue. It is a nice place to stay and very comfortable and would be perfect for couples with no small children.

“Not Impressed”

We were very excited about our stay at this hotel, but, unfortunately, our experience didn't quite live up to our expectations. The staff seemed friendly at first, making us glad we had chosen that hotel. However... There were several maintenance problems (shower knobs/valves were broken or inconsistent in operation, the fireplace required fixing - and never was truly fixed, and the water in the bath was discolored/brown). Further, we were disappointed at the Continental Breakfast (cold cereal, dry microwave biscuits, bland gravy, etc). We've stayed at a handful of other hotels in the area and they have all provided a much better breakfast. As we were driving home, we were both in agreement; we could have gotten an equal - or better - room in the same area, and for less money. We know this for a fact because we did it (twice) in the past six months. We will not be going back.

“Give it a "3"”

Bed was lumpy. Pillows were uncomfortable. Mirror on closet door was blocked by bed. Coffee provided in rooms was AWFUL. Towels were not very soft. Breakfast was the best about the whole experience
