Very plain/basic

Posted Oct 13, 2014
Pros: The location was close to many interesting points-Bowdoin and Bates Colleges, the beaches, Bath, Brunswick. The room was clean.
Cons: The room and d├ęcor of the motel was dated. There were stains on the sheets.
Our stay started on a sad note because when I made the reservation the motel was pet friendly but when I checked in I was informed that their policy had changed and they were no longer accepting pets. I even had to initial on the registration form that I acknowledged a $150 penalty fee if I brought a pet into the room. But them when I got to the room I read in the Guest information booklet that they had a pet policy. I mentioned to the front desk that they should update their Guest information booklets. Breakfast was also very basic and institutional. Bread from the grocery store and oatmeal in a big vat.

JUST AVERAGE

Posted Oct 1, 2014
Pros: It was quiet
Cons: Customer Service
Location: Good location, next to Walmart
I booked through Expedia and found out my reservation was for a smoking room. I called the hotel immediately and explained that I will be checking in with my 14 years old daughter. The staff assured me that my reservation will be fixed. When I arrived at the hotel and met the young man at the front desk, he insisted that my reservation was for a smoking room and promised no changes will be made. Of course, he reminded me that no refunds would be made if I left. I requested to speak with the Manager, the young man who claims he is 22 years old tells me that he is Manager. There was no courtesy, his attitude was like take or leave it, and by the way, I have important things to do. Worst experience ever.

Could be better

Posted Sep 20, 2014
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Room cleanliness, and generally the exterior could use a lift.
Location: Only a few miles from historic Batch, which has nice places to eat
There's a reason why some places are less expensive. Overall, staff is accommodating, but the killer here is that my first room had a strong smell of urine that simply dominated your senses. The staff person check it out, agreed, and I was given another room, which had no issues. But really? Cannot the staff who cleans the room make the management aware...or do they think that no one would notice. I would hate to be the last guy to get a room late at night...and that was the only room around. Oy.

Good mid coast location.

Pros: Location
Cons: More staff. I think that our bed wasn't made up because there was insufficient staffing.
Location: John Reid State Park, Five Islands Lobster, L Bean, Fat Boys, local classic carhop. Walmart came in handy too.
Slept well, bed was comfortable, the shower was clean and nice. the staff was very accommodating, they were also knowledgeable about restaurants in the immediate area. Only one issue, our bed was not made any time in our three night stay. Even after requesting after night one.

needs a little love

Pros: Steve at the front desk. It used to be breakfast. But you changed breakfast.
Cons: The overall is good. So just keep up with upgrades.
Location: Walmart and easy off the highway.
The concerns I have are that the room showed a lot of age. There were silverfish in the bathroom. The ac did not cool very well. The couches were worn. But overall it was ok. You have an employee named Steve at the front desk that is a really a great guy. I would stay again and have before several times.

Inexpensive for travelling around the area

Posted Aug 16, 2014
Pros: Clean, breakfast included, friendly staff. Good place to crash after day tripping!
Cons: Some maintenance in the bathroom - slow drains. Otherwise, cheap and cheerful!
Location: Popham Beach Boothby Harbor Reid State Park Puffin & Whale Tours Freeport/shopping
Good location for day trips to Popham or Reid State Park beaches. Not much in the way of restaurants - this is an inexpensive place to stay right beside a Walmart for getting supplies. From there, take your day trips to the sites of Maine. It was as expected for a 2-star, with some peeling paint and a dull smoky scent in the hallways. However, room was clean, plenty of towels and even a microwave and fridge in the room. The beds said double but seemed slightly smaller.
