Great service! But prices are insane!!

Posted Jan 24, 2015
Pros: The service was the best. Jackson, Julia,Teresa and Christain just outstanding. But the prices are out of control...$20+ for any appetizer? H
Cons: The food could stand improvement. It was hit or miss; tempura, tenderloin, fries, breakfast were very good. The wraps, penne pasta, sirloin were not.
Location: I don't know this so I will comment on the food. There were no premium bourbon whiskeys. They need Seagram's VO or at least Seagram's.
The hotel and grounds are lovely. We stayed in an over the water bungalow, something I had dreamed of doing for over 20 years since I first read about the Pearl in a newspaper describing the glass coffee tables that you can slide open and feed the fish through. There are windows everywhere to see as much of the ocean life as possible. After no more than 5 minutes in the bungalow we saw a ray sweep by! We saw it again several times snorkeling and from our deck. When we got in the water we were escorted by two bright yellow and black fish that stayed with us all the way back to the bungalow. But they weren't the only ones, we saw all kinds of fish; large silver ones in large schools, small brilliant ones in schools, individual ones of gold and bronze, couples of soft blue and glow ing green that seemed to be lit from within, and much more; mussels or clams in the coral that had iridescent lips of blue, green and purple, large angel fish in the corals motionless, fish of all colors and combinations like picasso's trigger fish, so aptly named, a sea cucumber, leopard spotted fish, a very large puffer, trumpet fish that look like eels. Feeding the fish brings them right up to you in the water! The ray even came by which scared me to death as it really seemed that it wanted to go between my legs. It was quite used to people. The whole environment of coral being rebuilt and new life accepting the gift gives the space a unique quality, to me, of contrition and forgiveness.

泊まるなら On The Water Bungalow しかない!

Posted Dec 24, 2014

Private transfer to private island

Posted Dec 11, 2014
Though come with a hefty charge, we had an amazing time being treated as the only one being transferred from airport to hotel. The end of the pontoon bungalow was amazing with corals right below our see through (and open) coffee table. We fed the fish every night in our room. Sunset was amazing. Only complain is the mosquitos, but the hotel does two sprays a day around the resort to prevent most of it.

Pros: The beach and the dance show in the evening
Location: When you stay for only one night you don't want to go anywhere around and just soak up the beauty of this place . No desire or time to go anywhere!!
Everything was great at this hotel!! The dance show at night was great and the morning room service was exceptional, It was like having my own island for one night, The huts are very clean and comfortable and the staff were courteous and did everything for us to be sastified,Thanks a lot for making such a long time dream so memorable!!!

Amazing trip that we will never forget.

Posted Aug 27, 2014
Pros: The staff were very nice and warm towards us at all times.
Cons: Maybe offer free water at dinner time would be nice.
Location: Swimming is so much fun along with snorkeling and me being a scuba diver seeing all the manta rays, sting rays, sharks, and lots of tropical fish.
This was a amazing trip for my seven year old daughter, my wife who is has cancer, and myself. Once we arrived we were treated very well and all the staff were so friendly and super nice. The location of the resort is perfect place within the lagoon. The water is crystal clear and has lots of fish visiting your over the water bungalow. We will like to go again some time down the road but we need to save up for the next trip to the most beautiful location in the world.

Nice hotel on the water.

Posted Aug 13, 2014
The Pearl Beach Resort is a nice resort. It is not mind blowingly awesome, but it does not disappoint either. My wife and I stayed in an Over Water Bungalow with a great view of the lagoon and mountains. Our room was nice. Flowers on the bed and couch were a nice touch. The actual room was never super clean. I guess that is to be expected given it is a beach resort. The cleaning staff were not consistent. One day we would have 4 towels. The next 2 towels. Some days we would get a bar of soap other days we would not. The resort restaurants had very friendly staff. A big shout out to Vincent who was a great host at our morning breakfasts. The food was decent, not great. Not much selection and severely over priced relative to other Bora Bora fine dining restaurants. The resort did not offer much in the way of water activities. You could take out a kayak or paddleboard or snorkel gear but that's it. All other water activities had to be booked through their activities desk with an outside service provider. My wife and I had a very relaxing honeymoon at the Pearl Beach Resort and I cant say that we were disappointed with anything.

Power outage two nights in a row?

Posted Jul 21, 2014 on Hotels.com
We stayed in an overwater bungalow - an exciting, once-in-a-lifetime event for most. Two of our three nights were interrupted by power outages in the middle of the night - read: hot and sweaty. Opening the windows didn't help much. When management was approached about how we're spending nearly $1000 USD/night and this was unacceptable at that price, I was met with "it's not our fault." That may be, but it's also not my fault. Should a guest pay full price to sweat it out, wake up in the middle of the night to open windows, and wake again to close when the power came back on VACATION? This isn't a Motel 6 by the interstate. There are certain expectations about a place like this. We won't be returning to the hotel given how our valid concerns were shrugged off by management. Outside of that: The water is blue. The view is nice. But the details: the property could use some work as far as upkeep and fixtures - example: shower drainage. Other inconveniences: you have to buy internet from a gift shop with limited hours - a thinking hotel might let you buy you the card at the front desk, or better, allow internet purchase online - not here. Finally, we asked the concierge about doing an excursion that the hotel wasn't partnered with. The hotel wouldn't call for us, so we ended up calling ourselves - a local call that cost us about $15 for a few minutes. For those prices, all things considered, thanks, but no thanks. Hindsight: I'd book elsewhere.

Beautiful quiet spot

Posted Jun 25, 2014
Pros: The location and view.
Cons: Entertainment at night and the high prices.
Location: Magnificent location and plenty to do during the day time if you are a multi-millionaire.
We took an over water bungalow in this decent and lovely little resort. The flight in and the transfer to the resort was amazing. The food was good, the view was great, the service was good, everything was lovely. There just wasn't anything to do at night and after a couple of days the place became a bit boring unless you are content to sun bake all day (which we are not). The local snorkelling was very average and the options to do extra activities around Bora-Bora were plentiful but extravagantly expensive.
