“Great budget hotel.”

The hotel Maitai is a great bargin for the money. The staff was courteous and accomodating. The best reef on the island for snorkeling is a kayak's ride away. Decent restaurants are within walking distance. It's not a glamorous hotel but it does provide everything you need for a great vacation and more.

“Like one of the family”

The hotel is just across the road from a private beach. Our second floor sea view room offered lovely view of lagoon. Walk to and from the hotel lobby and restaurant was up a steep hill, but a delightful walk amid tropical plants and flowers. Open air lobby was a relaxing place to sit. Buffet breakfast was substantial. Loved the fresh flowers strewn on our bed and displayed all over the hotel. We were offered hotel umbrellas whenever it looked like it might rain. Hotel refunded my internet card when their system went down. We felt like we were leaving family behind when we checked out.

“Fantastic, can't wait to go back!!”

We stayed at the Maitai for our Honeymoon on Bora Bora and were extremely happy with everything about our beach bungalow. We stayed in bungalow #8. We found the staff to be extremely nice and helpful, the food at the hotel was very good, and booking any excursions at the front desk was very easy. Before we even left we were talking about coming back some day, and we will stay at the Maitai again for sure. For the prices we saw compared to other hotels, this one is a fantastic value on a very expensive island. We went down the street to a much more expensive hotel for dinner one night, and for almost three times the price, it wasn't worth it. The Maitai has two good beaches, some decent snorkeling (along with free equipment if you don't have your own), and the food is good enough that you don't have to go to other restaurants on the island if you don't want to, since they all have pretty much the same menu.

“Honeymoon at Hotel Maitai Polynesia”

It is hard for me to even begin how fantastic everything was at the Hotel Maitai Polynesia. From the moment the hotel's shuttle picked us up from the ferry that brought us to the main island to our last day, the service was spectacular. They understand travelers are coming a long way and have facilities available to freshen up if your room isnt quite ready yet. Despite a slight language barrier, we were able to communicate to reception what island activities we were interested in doing and they made every attempt possible to ensure we were happy despite how busy they were. Our hotel had a large book of the available activities and we picked which ones we wanted and when we wanted them. Expect to pay about $100 per person per activity. Unfortunately nothing is cheap on the island but you probably already spent a lot to get there in the first place. Everything the hotel staff did for us was also done with a smile and friendly attitude. If something wasnt available, they would go out of their way to help us find an alternative. Our bungalow over the water was more beautiful than we could have imagined and I would HIGHLY recommend spending the extra money to get one. They also had a great deals where breakfast and dinner were free (the food and service was fantastic) and free snorkeling and kayaking equipment that locked us into the hotel when we were deciding. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Bora Bora

“"Boutique-hotel feel"”

I did a lot of searching before picking the Maitai Polynesia. We didn't want to be isolated out on one of the island's motu and didn't want to pay $1000/night. This place was wonderful. It's a small, independent hotel with about 40 units, 20 of which are either on the beach or over water. If getting one of the bungalows, especially the beach bungalows, ask for one with a good view -- a few have restricted water views. The breakfasts were generous, and I recommend that you get that included with your room because meals on Bora Bora are crazy high otherwise -- or go to the little market that's a 5-minute walk away. Wireless internet coverage is spotty and expensive (900 CFP for 1 hour).

“Blue Lagoon”

Great hotel located on the lagoon in Bora Bora. Within walking distance of Bloody Mary's Bar. Helpful English speaking staff. Has overwater units and rooms on hillside with breath taking views of the blue lagoon.

“Exceptional View & Service”

View rooms are spacious, comfortable, well laid out, have a spectacular view of the beach, over water bungalos, Sofitel Moutu Hotel and the reef surrounding Bora Bora. Staff was always very helpful with tours, specialty needs (I required medical attention and they took it upon themselves to acquire a physician in Viatape [even though it was late afternoon-early evening], personally drove me to the doctor's office and was ready to bring me back to the hotel when the physician procedure was completed. There was no negotiations, the hotel staff was just there immediately when needed. Special thanks to Alfredo and Tani for their personal attention to all of our needs. A/C was more than adequate and room cleanliness was exceptional. The food at the in hotel restaurant was expensive and was the least enjoyable of all restaurants where selected. However, the hotel restaurant on the beach was very good, both in service and enjoyable meals/menu/taste/cost. Overall, the location of the hotel is very good with restaurants, markets, tours and beach acces all very convenient.
