Excellent hotel for visiting Bora Bora

Posted Sep 6, 2014
Pros: Location, comfort, very friendly staff. I loved the lagoon and the location on the island, even if there's no reason to ever leave the hotel.
Cons: Don't make me wait until the day before I leave to find out if I can get late checkout. Also, the TV was fairly old (no HDMI input).
Location: Be sure to check out the pearl shopping and Bloody Mary's (rent a bicycle, scooter, or car, or take a taxi).
I was very happy with our choice of the Intercontinental Le Moana hotel for our stay in Bora Bora. We booked a horizon overwater bungalow (the ones farthest out--although, we booked on Expedia so we got the closest-in one of those...but it was still a very nice location). The bungalows at this Intercontinental aren't as big as the ones at the Thalasso, but I thought they were a very comfortable size (king bed, sitting area and desk, very large & modern bathrooms. The decor is very nice and feels authentic island (thatched roofs, etc). The balconies have an upper and lower deck and a ladder into the water. One great thing about this hotel is that it's on the southern tip of the main island and thus has a very large lagoon (the water is only 2-feet deep all the way out to the last bungalow--a good 100 yards). In addition, there is a lot of coral throughout the lagoon that attract hundreds of tropical fish. Each overwater bungalow has its own coral garden below a glass table (most other hotels have the glass-bottom table but no coral to attract the fish; in fact, most don't even have lagoons to speak of). The hotel has snorkel gear, kayaks, and paddleboards available for guest use. The staff was another highlight--everyone is very helpful and friendly, and the concierge happily took care of setting up any activities we wanted to do. The hotel did an excellent job of creating exactly the relaxing, stress-free vacation we were looking for.

Everything expected and more

Posted Jul 15, 2014
Pros: Everything
Cons: There was a slight mix up on the last day on the breakfasts we charged to the room. That was a little frustrating, but it got resolved.
Location: Kayaking, snorkeling, jet skiing, paddle boarding
My wife and I loved it. It was beautiful, relaxing, peaceful, and fun. The food at the hotel was pricy, which we expected, but it was delicious.

Best Hotel Experience Ever

Posted Jul 12, 2014 on Hotels.com
I spent 5 days in this hotel and I would recommend it to everyone. I was traveling with 3 children, my wife, and mother. We had 2 over water bungalows. We visited Tahiti before arriving here. We were very busy. There whole experience here was superior to any place I have been. The service was just awesome. I loved the staff. The staff greeted me everyday by name. They were friendly, always helpfully. The food was excellent, a bit pricey, but everything is expensive in Bora Bora. The location was great. It is located on the main Island unlike some other ones that are located on smaller motus (islands). If you are on a motu, you have to take a boat to everything and possibly a taxi (more money to shell out). There are stores and restaurants right outside the gate. It was very convenient. There is also a very nice beach there. I would recommend becoming an Intercontinental Gold Ambassador before your trip. It costed me 200 dollars but it was worth it. I got a free upgrade and 4 pm late check out.

Awesome Honeymoon Experience

Posted Jun 29, 2014
This is THE place to go if you want to completely relax. The staff is amazing and so helpful. We stayed in an OWB. It was awesome. The room was perfect. We spent a lot of time just watching the fish and sting rays swim around us. Lots of great snorkeling right on the property. Everything is fairly pricey, but if you can manage it, go for it! Definitely worth it!!! Hoping to come back some day.

Dear Valuable guests from Tennessee, Ia Orana from the InterContinental Bora Bora Le Moana Resort! We trust you had a safe and comfortable trip back home. We appreciate your kind assistance for having taken your valuable time to fill out our survey to make us aware of your experience. The matter you have raised has been investigated and have received my personal attention. I found out that the website was not updated correctly and the rate from 2013 and 2014 were published. You might have read the rate from last year even if the 2014 one was stipulated in the following lines. I have contacted Expedia immediately for the correction and thank you for bringing this to us. We are pleased to learn however that you enjoyed your stay with us, and that you were very satisfied with the service and facilities provided by our property. We thank you for your patronage; comments such as yours are vital to our continued success. Please accept again our sincere apologies about this problem which is now in process of correction. fantastic location

We only spend 2 nights after a 2 week sailing charter. We would love to return and spend more time. The hotel booked a ferry to the airport for us, but neglected to inform us the cost for the 20min ride was $120+. We had time to cancel and take a taxi to town and the free airport ferrry._Otherwise we received excellent service and the best located "over the water bungalow" #12, which made our stay perfect. Thank You

Intimate outstanding resort.

Posted Jun 3, 2014
Pros: We loved the accommodations, beach and outstanding service.
Location: Perfect location on the island. Two grocery stores are within walking distance as is Lucky's, an awesome restaurant to the right of the entrance.
After sailing on a catamaran for 11 days, this resort was the perfect ending to our trip. It is the perfect size to receive that one on one service that makes you feel special. We chose this over the sister resort on the motu so we could walk to stores, restaurants, etc. and it worked out perfectly. We weren't tied down to waiting on a boat to take us back and forth. Over the water bungalow's are worth the $$. # 11 was awesome. I personally welcomed the wind (some reviews complained about it) as it was hot and humid. A shout out to Ms Levy, general manager, who sought us out to say hi and make sure everything was up to our expectations and to Celine, who greeted us at the dock and made sure everything went smooth until we were in our room. The beach and amenities were all we could ask for. Every evening there was a happy hour where drinks were two for the price of one. If Bora Bora was closer, this would be a place we would definitely return to.

Heaven on Earth

Posted May 21, 2014
Pros: beautiful romantic setting, great location, beautiful overwater bungalows, small & intimate pool by the beach, great buffet breakfast, friendly staff
Cons: nothing
Location: great location near Matira Beach and good restaurants
We loved everything about our experience at this hotel. We were met at the airport, taken by launch to our hotel and given a welcome drink as we checked in. Our King Overwater Bungalow far exceeded our expectations. It was beautiful, well-designed and comfortable. A table over a clear floor provided viewing of the lagoon below and the top could be moved open so as to feed (food was provided) the fish. The deck had a built in table and chairs and two comfortable lounge chairs. We loved lying on the lounges at night listening to the wave action in the lagoon, feeling the breezes and looking at the stars. The pool was small, intimate, beautiful, romantic and next to the beach. The breakfast buffet had every food any guest would desire and we looked forward to it each morning. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. It was paradise and we are already looking forward to the time when we can return.
