this was our honeymoonPosted Feb 19, 2014
We stayed at this hotel for a 14 day honeymoon. The staff from the managee down could not have been warmer nor more helpful. A lot of things to do such as free kayaks, paddel boarding, snorkeling or just sitting. Not a place for loud disco partying. It was beautiful in all ways. This hotel is Paradise.

Great location and privacy.Posted Jan 14, 2014
Location: Blood Mary restaurant, supermarket.
We stayed in the overwater bungalow for 6 days. The hotel is on the main island so easy to go to town, supermarket and different local restaurants. Most of the pearl markets are in town and they provide free pick up. It has a free boat transfer each hour to another InterContinental Thalasso-Spa Hotel which is on the other Island, so you pay one hotel fee but can use 2 hotels facilities and took photos from 2 different beaches. The hotel room is smaller than the other InterContinental and restaurants are less as well. But the hotel set up is nice than the other one, space between bungalows is bigger.

Nice hotel, great staff, but not the best viewPosted Jul 18, 2013 on Hotels.com
This was a really nice hotel, staff was some of the best we came across in French Polynesia from general manager on down to front desk/porters. Location next to Matira beach is nice, and lots of shops/restaurants in the area. Only downside for us was that the views from the bungalows aren't the sweeping full mountain ones you'd see from some of the other hotels out on the motu. But the price also wasn't what you'd pay on the motu and it was nice to be able to easily get into town and not feel trapped. For what they can control (service, facilties, experience) its a great spot. But if the view is what you're spending big bucks on to go to Bora Bora, consider spending a bit more and staying out on the motu.

Excellent service and close to restaurantsPosted Jun 4, 2013 on Hotels.com
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Our over the water bungalow was fabulous, lots of room and very clean. The service was excellent, Laurent (concierge and the other concierges) were extremely helpful. They took care of reservations via email so by the time we arrived at the hotel we had everything taken care of. While at the hotel they assisted us with further reservations. The hotel is within walking distance to restaurants (Lucky House is excellent and is only a 2 min walk) and the market. Several of the restaurants will pick you up at the hotel at no charge. When we were leaving the hotel the General Manager stopped by the boat to say goodbye to us. The only negative thing about the location of the hotel is that it can be windy on that side of the island however; you have a public beach right beside the hotel (the hotel has a great beach too but it can be windy) that is beautiful and it has very little wind.

Beautiful room and groundsPosted May 16, 2013
Pros: Room, grounds, food
Location: Jet ski
The hotel was wonderful. We were given a villa room at the very end and it was perfect. The room decoration was romantic and the room was very clean. We loved easy access to shallow waters for snorkeling. The food was great too. The DVD library had very few movies and only a handful were in English so bring some DVDs if you were expecting to rent movies there. We saw several rays and swam near one too. We also saw a reef shark at night so that drove thoughts of night snorkleing right out of our heads :) Thanks Intercontinental for a great stay.

We would love to come back!Posted Jul 16, 2012
Pros: Room and View
The staff were marvellous - particularly Pauline who checked us in and gave us a guided tour. It was great to have the manager come and chat with us daily as she came across us around the resort or in the restaurant. The room was incredible. I loved the glass coffee table which opened out so we could feed the amazing fish living underneath. The weather wasn't that brilliant but it was a great opportunity to relax. We tried some of the local restaurants, but apart from Bloody Mary's we would have been better off dining at the hotel restaurant where the service was great and prices reasonable. Our departure was like saying goodbye to good friends. Most guests were honeymooning couples but we were there with our 13 year old daughter and she was a bit lonely at times.
