Pleasant location by lake, though in 'hotel city' rather than countryside. Regular bus to centre of Bordeaux from stop outside hotel. Spacious public areas and charming desk service. Secure, open-air car parking.

“An excellent hotel in a good location”

This was our third visit to this hotel and on each occasion we have enjoyed a very good night, the beds are superb and the staff attentive and very helpful, expecially the English speaking concierge, reception staff, and not forgeting the bar manager. Love this hotel for a stopover on the way to or from Spain and it is so reassuring to know that the comfort is guaranteed. Made the mistake of not eating in the hotel choosing to use the Court Paille across the road, worst service ever and the bar manager later described it as 'rough' which was perhaps a little more complimentary than our thoughts. Normally book direct with Sofitel but this was the best deal yet, using Expedia.

“Beatuiful hotel”

This hotel is right on Lake Bordeaux and it is very close to the heart of the city and easy to get to from the airport. The rooms were gorgeous and a great way to spend our last night in France.

“Great hotel!”

The hotel has been recently refurbished to an excellent standard. It's contemporary, and has lots of nice little touches, including lovely Roger & Gallet minatures in the bathroom (which I loved!). The hotel is approx 15mins from the centre in a cab, but was definitely worth it, especially as we had hired a car and were closer to the wine regions. TThe hotel is next to a beautiful lake and there is also a big casino next door which was great fun! Robert, the conceirge was the most helpful person, going out of his way to give us directions and drew us maps of the best places to go. My boyfriend left his ipod and book behind, and the hotel were very honest and returned them to him by post. An excellent hotel all round and I would definitley reccommend it if you don't mind being slightly out of the centre.

“An excellent business hotel”

My husband and I were pleased with our stay Pullman Bordeaux Aqutania. It was only footsteps away from his conference at the Conference Center. We knew it wasn't close to the center of Bordeaux but his conference was more important. We had reserved a lake side executive room but the room did not have a bath tub. Having a bath tub is mandatory for my personal enjoyment of a hotel room and we opted to a lesser quality room to get this feature. What astounds me is the staff did NOT tell us IF we upgraded to a suite (minor cost that we did later), we could have both a shower and bath tub. No matter what, the beds were extremely comfortable in both a lower quality room and the suite that we had later in our five day stay. Overall, the staff was very helpfull. We were disappointed in the hours of the restaurant but were rather pleased with the 'bar food' that we could get when it was not open. For breakfast, we had few options over than hotel. The staff made up for this is their service that was far superior to the evening staff. While the distance to city of Bordeaux is a huge disadvange, we easily found a good underground parking garage that was easy to use. While we prefere to walk to distinations when we travel, it wasn't a huge hassle to park and enjoy the city of Bordeaux. Overall, we would give HIGH ranking to the Pullman's quality of cost effective suites, the staff and the beds.

The hotel is really great. The room is big and confortable. The problem is that is too far from city center. If you don't have a car, you have to take a bus and after the tramway to reach city center. This will take about 30 to 40 minutes, and at night the buses are very rare.

“Second Time Back but extremely disappointed!!!!!!!”

Me and my wife stayed at the same hotel 3 and a half years ago under a different management. It was a lovely business hotel and the price was good. We love Bordeaux wines and thought to stay there even though it is a 10 minute drive to the city centre; we had a rental car so it didn't bother us. This time, we travelled with another couple and thought of our great last experience. Wrong! Under different management perhaps, first of all, the hotel had perhaps a 10% or less occupancy, we can easily tell by seeing only a handful of cars in the parking lot; instead of a packed lot as of last time. Upon check-in, we immediately realized they have put us in a different section of the hotel than last time. The room size was about the same but the bathroom's decor was from the 80's. The toilet was right next to the entrance door, separate from the main bath and the carpet was filthy dirty. There were leftover room service plates and glasses sitting right outside of our hotel room, which was not cleaned up yet and we checked in after 7pm that evening. My wife was so upset that it looked so much different from when we stayed 3 years ago that she went down to the front desk and asked for a room change. Even though the hotel was not even 25% full, the front desk clerk simply told us that the on site manager would not do anything for us, because it was difficult for them to upgrade 2 rooms... What kind of service is that? Would NEVER EVER recommend such a hotel! Stay AWAY!Pls!
