Adagio AdventurePosted Nov 25, 2014
Pros: The staff was extremely helpful and the location was ideal.
Cons: The weather turned unseasonably warm for late November, but there was no A/C to help cool the room.
Location: There are numerous restaurants, cafes, and shops in the Place Gambetta area. A number of buses and the tram lines service this area also.
Our stay in the Aparthotel Adagio was a nice surprise. This newly opened hotel just off Place Gambetta welcomed us with Bordelais hospitality. The staff addressed our requests with courtesy and expediency. Our room upgrade was much appreciated as was the quiet and cleanliness of the hotel. We will return to this hotel if we have the opportunity to visit Bordeaux again and we recommend it to anyone wishing a pleasant, uncomplicated stay in the city center.

Comfortable modern hotel in great location.Posted Nov 19, 2014
Pros: comfort and great value
Cons: nothing that we noticed
Location: just off the city centre with great bars and restaurants all within easy walking distance (cars in Bordeaux are totally unnecessary).
Had a lovely autumn long weekend in a friendly, comfortable modern hotel. In a quiet location yet ideally situated for the vibrant city centre, galleries, museums and transport connections. Spacious rooms with great facilities; a little kitchenette a well stocked supermarket nearby if you don't want to eat out (but who would not want to try the many great restaurants that Bordeaux has to offer!). Bordeaux is a beautiful buzzing city full of character with history, culture, marvellous wines, cuisine and everything else needed for a great short break.

Central to downtown- easy to get around.Posted Nov 13, 2014
Good hotel with small kitchenette. Our room overlooked the park. Comfy bed and quiet. Excellent bathtub and shower. Well appointed in general- kitchen could use a few more items but in general good quality. Watch out for Bordeaux taxis. Wish hotel staff had told me that you should not call a cab- they will charge you from where they leave not from your point of pick up. But other than this, excellent experience in Bordeaux.

great location for sightseeingPosted Nov 1, 2014
Pros: cleanliness and location
Location: several museums and galleries and monuments- although not always signposted. great choice of restaurants and cafes
The apartment was spacious, well thought out and had everything we required. The hotel is 2 minutes from the city centre and a perfect base for sight seeing. There is a fitness suite, sauna and Turkish bath- all complimentary. Staff speak several languages and were incredibly helpful and polite. Easy to get to- get the number 1 bus from Gambetta square (5 minutes round the corner) to and from the airport. It takes 35 minutes and only costs 1.50 euro whereas a taxi will cost you 35-45 euro depending on traffic.

Ideal for a short stay near city centrePosted Oct 20, 2014
Pros: Peace and quiet & flexibility to do our own thing
Location: You are in easy reach of everything. Use the trams buy a day ticket you can explore the everywhere - ticket covers shuttle ferry along the river
Great apartment location ideal walking distance of everything sights river restaurants trams, only 35 minutes on bus from airport. Shopping centre across the road including large Auchan supermarket ideal for provisions. Kitchen adequate for all our needs, silent dishwasher, full size fridge. Large bathroom with separate shower & separate toilet. Studio for 3 had plenty of space & everything on wheels to configure as you want, 2nd bed TV table. Very Very quiet & excellent balcony overlooking central garden area. Impressed with security room key to access main doors after 21.00hrs & every time to go up in lift. 1st time we have stayed in an apartment but will be our choice from now on & will certainly look at Adagio chain in other locations.

Great hotel, very convenient location !Posted Oct 10, 2014
Pros: Hotel in city centre,
Cons: we would have appreciated a change of towels as least once during our stay (5 days), housekeeping charges too high
Location: Supermarket behind hotel to purchase breakfast items. Arrived by train station within 30 min. bus ride to hotel
We were 15 minutes from tourist centre so we booked a day excursion for 100 euro to visit the wineries, spent day visiting 4 chateaus and tasting their wine, had a great lunch (full course meal) with wine at 'Le Sauve" restaurant, we were explained the process of making wine, had a great day and well worth the money. I would recommend this excursion. (Margaux excursion), visited local market 30 min walk

Central and good value. Rude staff on at nightPosted Oct 7, 2014
Pros: Location and big room, so good value
Cons: Receptionist on Friday 3rd October in the evening had no manners, was rude and confrontational. Should remember who is the paying customer!
Location: Easy to explore what Bordeaux has to offer from this location
Happy overall apart from check in on Friday evening. We arrived on the 10:30pm flight from London, and found the hotel. After pressing the buzzer twice and no answer, I used my hand to make a knocking noise on the door/glass to attract attention of a guest on the sofa to see if they could open. Immediately the receptionist appears from nowhere, and then accuses me of nearly breaking the door down! It was a complete and utter exaggeration and an unnecessary reaction, and when I calmly and politely tried to clarify this I was told ‘I must be dreaming’ and that it’s all on film. If it wasn’t so late I would have gone and cancelled the booking right there! Given this reaction I promptly asked to see this 'film' so we can both watch me apparently destroy this massive glass door with my single hand via ‘knocking on it'. This wasnt 'available'. Was then completely unapologetic and essentially accused me of lying and refused to pass me to a supervisor merely giving me a card. Apart from the above , everyone else and the room was great

Beautiful and cozy roomPosted Oct 4, 2014
Location: The location is perfect, all the great places to see are within walking distance and the tram is right around the corner.
I stayed for almost two weeks in a studio room in Adagio Hotel. I felt very cozy and happy in my room, the window overlooked a beautiful view and despite overlooking a busy street it was very quiet and peaceful in the room. The bed was very comfortable and the room included everything from a tea kettle to mugs and cooking utensils. It is a great place to stay for someone who is not fluent in French as the staff is very kind and understanding. My flight was delayed and I was very happy to extend my stay and look forward to coming back in the future. There is also a gym and a sauna in the hotel, but I did not check it out as there was so much more to see in Bordeaux! A beautiful hotel in one of the most beautiful cities in the world! I highly recommend.
