Quiet, close to train station

Posted Aug 27, 2014
Pros: Location, breakfast
Cons: standing water in the courtyard walkway contributed to mosquitos.
Location: Bordeaux is very walkable - easy to get to the river and center of town either by walking or by tram.
If you are using the train like I was, this is a super convenient location; very close to trains and the city's tram system. The hotel is small and quiet; my room was off a private outdoor courtyard. One of the best things was the breakfast - very good value for the price. More things included (fresh and dried fruit, for instance) than you usually see.

Reasonable hotel close to Bordeaux rail station

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: Quiet. Clean. Nice view over red-tiled rooftops from upper-floor rooms.
Cons: More convenient power points for re-charging electronics. Real cake of soap (I hate liquid soap dispensers).
Location: Close to rail station (rail, tram, buses, hourly airport bus). Old, pretty part of Bordeaux is a 20-30min walk north. La Garonne riverside 5 min walk
Not at all a fancy hotel, but will do for an overnight or two for business traveler. Well-located, walking distance to/from Bordeaux St.Jean rail station, even with a roll-suitcase. Quiet street, away from rail station plaza bustle. Note: no elevators to upper floors. Note: no air-conditioning, but the fan they provide was adequate (in July).

Comfy Hotel - Very close to Train Station

Posted Jul 7, 2014 on Hotels.com
This hotel must have been recently renovated, as the room and everything was new and fresh. It was a very close walk to the Gare (metro and TGV) station. Perfect location for the TGV from Paris, and then to take the metro from there to downtown Bordeaux. Well worth the price, for a large room, bigger than usual bathroom, clean sheets, friendly staff & and excellent breakfast. Worth the Euros for good start to your day. Underground paid parking is in a garage on the opposite corner, but worth if it you have car. Most large rooms are upstairs, but they do have rooms on the ground level if stairs are an issue. Don't forget to take the gate code if out late. WiFi is faster than most places. I couldn't rate this hotel higher as it was a perfect start to our vacation!

Most convenient and friendly hotel

Pleasant rooms and a nicely decorated building. Very convenient for main station and walking distance to old city, although the surrounding neigbourhood appears a bit dodgy.

Tiny room

Posted Sep 17, 2013
Pros: The staff were accommodating. Good restaurant recommendation.
Cons: Decline to allow too many people into such a small room.
Location: Well located near train station.
Much too small to advertise as acceptable for 3 adults.

Nice hotel close to trains station

Posted Apr 24, 2013 on Hotels.com
Very quiet location within proximity to train station and easy access to downtown via tram, nearby. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy but was perfectly safe and very quiet. Many dining options near the station and in the downtown via tram. Laundry close by for travellers. Staff were very helpful and polite. Clean and well maintained establishment. Would stay again in the future.

The hotel is very close to the station, and I choose it on this basis as I was arriving late one night and leaving early one morning by train. But it was quite a long way from the interesting bits of the centre (though near to public transport). Hotel was clean and staff helpful and friendly
