Expensive but worth it!

We absolutely loved this hotel and were glad we splurged. We chose one level up from the lowest room (superior? I forget what they call it). Service was fantastic and its very nice to have a full service hotel when in a foreign country for us, the concierge set up an incredible winery appt in St. Emillion for us and provided good restaurant recommendations in town.

Excellent Hotel, perfect location, staff friendly & we enjoyed our 2 night stay in the warm weather (June 6-8). However the Airconditioning was not working & we felt that the hotel thought this was acceptable (not for a 5 star expensive hotel - where adequate maintenance and stand-by equipment would prevent a breakdown). We had to leave the window open & it was quite noisy (again the staff did not seem over concerned when we brought this to their attention).

Wonderful Hotel

Posted Mar 24, 2013
Pros: Very Friendly and Helpful staff.
Location: Great location in the center of the city
The hotel was ideally located in the center part of the city. Our room was not large but very comfortable and beautifully decorated with a beautiful marble bathroom.

Cons: Price of breakfast
First class hotel with great service, Breakfast at 38 Euro is a ridiculous price which is the only negative I can think of

Definitely a 5 star hotel in a wonderful city.

Pros: The food was delicious, room service was of a very high standard and the bed was probably the most comfortable I have ever slept in.
Cons: Would have liked coffee making facilities in the room.
Location: The hotel faces the Opera House and is in the heart of the old part of the city with the best shops and restaurants just a few yards away.
Beautifully decorated hotel. The food was gorgeous, the staff were all polite, helpful and friendly. Could not fault the hotel at all.

An absolutely fantastic hotel, city centre location - wonderful service and very luxurious spa. We went for a hen do and it was a fantastic choice. Highly recommended.

Pros: Helpful, friendly staff, great decor and location
Cons: Cost of breakfast
Location: Couldn't be better, easy to find and get to, right in the middle of the city
Friendly staff, great location and great decor/rooms. Very, very comfortable. Breakfast on the expensive side so ate at local cafe called 'All Day Eating' which was terrific and only a short distance away.

great central location and a great massage

This is a lovely comfortable hotel right in the heart of the city. given its location the rooms were incredibly quiet- and you can walk everywhere from there. The service overall was very good - with the front desk and concierge, really helpful and friendly. Once let down was the bar- this was a bit scruffy and provided terrible service. The spa is ok- the pool is very small and doesnt really have enough stations to qualify as a real thermal spa- two and only really focussed on the lower back. I was hoping for more. This is also an extra cost if you dont have any treatments. however, the service at the spa was fantastic- really friendly and helpful and the treatments were first class- i can highly recommend CELIA for a deep muscle massage- the best I have had.
