Nice luxury city centre hotel in Bordeaux.Posted Aug 24, 2014
Nice City. Hard to find car access to the front of hotel, due to barriers, even with Sat Nav ! Easy when you know how - Hotel should advise how to gain access. Our Bathroom ceiling had a water leek from the bathroom above, not good in an expensive luxury hotel !! Valet car parking expensive at 37euros per night !! If using trams in Bordeaux, don't forget to buy a 1.5 euro ticket ( if you can find the pay station ) OR they fine the tourists 50 euro each !!! Not Very friendly :(:(

A touch of luxury in the best location in BordeauxPosted Mar 16, 2014
Fantastic welcome from the uniformed doormen who couldn't have been more helpful during our stay. This is comfort and luxury old-style. The location couldn't be better - next to a tram stop and in the best square in Bordeaux. The buffet breakfast is pricy but there is a lot of choice and the view from the window onto the square makes up for it. The bedroom was small, facing onto an inner courtyard which did give some daylight. Bed and pillows v comfortable - slept for 9 hours. Note for Brits: no kettle but there is a Nespresso machine.

Overall, very much enjoyed. The lights in the room were little bit too dark to me though.

Good location, sub par service for a 5 star hotelPosted Dec 5, 2013 on Hotels.com
The Hotel was well situated right in the center of the city and was surrounded by shops and restaurants, if only the service was better it would have been perfect. The staff at the concierge desk were hit and miss, one gentleman was freindly and tried to be helpful but a woman working there had a bad attitude and made us unwelcome and bothersome. Even though this is supposed to be the best hotel in town they had no pull with the local restaurants to get us last minute reservations and were not knowledgable about tours or sightseeing trips. Our room was decent but not five star by american standards, it was equivalent to a holiday inn express with some marble counters in the bathroom and nicer wall paper. If you book a room and want a view be sure to ask for a room that does not face into the courtyard. Access to the hotel by car is complex and not obvious, be sure to call ahead for instructions or you will find yourself getting quite aggravated. The staff at the in house brasserie was friendly and the food was of good quality but the management was unpleasant and asked us at least three times during our meal for our room number and last name, this was also common at the concierge desk and I found it very irritating. I will not be staying at this otl again.

Great location great staffPosted Oct 6, 2013 on Hotels.com
This was a crowning property of a 10-day trip around the south of France. The staff, especially the concierge, we're very helpful. Very nice property that we would stay at again without hesitation.
