Location was good
Posted Jan 17, 2013
The hotel was well located in the centre of the city within easy walking distance of major attractions and an easy walk to the central tram area. The city is very easy to get around by tram and walking, it was a lovely city to see - very pleasant walking along the banks of the river. The city has several long mall streets in which pedestrians have good protection from cars but maybe you need to keep a watch for cyclists. The hotel was ok but for a couple we had a bed which was barely a double and not the most comfortable by any standards - maybe we were unlucky with the room but we did book a couple of months ahead. The breakfast was ok and the room itself was about the normal French room size and was clean enough. We normally travel by train and book away from the station as most stations are a bit seedy in the immediate vicinity. In Bordeaux you could do well by booking on the main city side facing the river - but it probably is expensive. Overall the stay was really good despite the bed issue.

OK but cramped

Pros: The location is great and the staff was helpful (and fluent enough in English).
Cons: The breakfast and maid service could be improved.
Location: Lots of restaurants and tourist destinations are within a short walk of the hotel.
The location is perfect and the staff was helpful. The room itself is small, especially the shower stall. There was no view, except onto an air shaft. Generally, the room was clean, but the details around the shower were yucky. The maid shorted us on towels twice in three days, but the front desk remedied the mistakes on request. The breakfast was disappointing due to limited choices, very poor croissants, and a broken espresso machine on one day out of three. If you're not too fussy, the location almost makes up for the weaknesses of the hotel.

Location: central as it gets
was great option, very central. but you gotta pay parking in les hommes. Its not cheep, supposedly your supposed to get a discount, if they decide to staff it at 7am on easter morn, which they did not until 10a. sorry gotta pay more a catch a plane. Friendly folks, very basic breakfast but passable for the price and free wifi

Poor Hotel, Good Location
Posted Jan 21, 2013 on Hotels.com
This hotel was nowhere near as nice as I was expecting. I was not, in any way, expecting a really nice or high-end place, but this failed to meet my very modest expectations. If this place were a cheap, economy-style hotel -- and the price actually reflected that -- then it might be fine for people who just want a bed in a decent location. Otherwise, I would not recommend the place to anyone.

Stayed for a conference at the University of Bordeaux, and the Continental is conveniently placed next to public transportation. Breakfast and facilities nice, room okay. Nice central location for sightseeing - would definitely stay again!

This hotel had a great location within walking distance of everything one might want to see in Bordeaux, close to shopping and entertainment. It is an older hotel, but in very good condition.

Cons: Mean provision of tea and coffe
Location: Excellent so close good restaurant and long term rarking
Adequate but I'd say one star lower than stated. Room OK by compact; only one tea-bag, coffee sachet, and tiny fagile plastic cups. Dining room of almost Victiorian gloom but breakfast OK
