Convenient as it's across train stationPosted Sep 13, 2014
Room was hot (no air conditioner); area noisy with lots of sleazy-looking characters. Staff was good. Not quite convenient to get to city sights.

Disappointing budget hotel, seen better daysPosted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: The man on reception was helpful and polite and did his best with pretty shoddy facilities.
Booked at the last minute, when all preferred options were no longer available. Lacklustre reception followed by need to change rooms as the door of the allocated room fell off its hinges on entry. We were allocated a replacement room by the helpful man on reception and allowed to choose replacement bedding from the laundry cupboard as those in the new room were dirty. No duvets, just tired blankets. Door to the ensuite bathroom didn't close so had to be propped closed from inside. Just opposite the station, so convenient, but very noisy if your room is at the front. Expensive for the standard of room (compared to other options close by). Shop around.

Superb location and extremely friendly staff!!!!!Posted Aug 3, 2014
The hotel is directly opposite Gare de Jean (Bordeaux train station) which was perfect for us as we arrived there on a direct 30min bus from the airport. The station provided great access to local attractions, including St Emilion. The tram into the city centre leaves from right outside the station. It takes 6mins to get to the centre and costs €1.50. Our room was basic and quite small but for a 2 star hotel was fantastic value for a great location in a beautiful city! The shower was amazing!!!! :-p Our stay was made even better by the fantastic receptionist, Jessica, who was helpful, informative, friendly, polite and spoke excellent English when we really needed it. We had a great time at Hotel du Faison!!!! A great place to stay for our visit!

Excellent locationPosted Jun 17, 2014
Great value hotel in the heart of the city. Our room was small and very hot at night but everything worked and was very clean. The hotel staff were very helpful and I would recommend the restaurant next door for delicious food and friendly service. Bordeaux has lots to offer, most of which is a short walk from the hotel

Great place to stay.Posted Jun 8, 2014
Pros: The location. Just perfect. Close to rail and other public transport. Close to good restaurants and within easy walking distance of the city centre.
Was an enjoyable experience. The staff were exceptional, so helpful and spoke good English. Room was small but more than adequate for a short stay. The bed was comfortable and the water hot for a shower. Everything a traveller could want.

Handy location to railway station and tram; basic hotel. No tea making facilities. Bit drab. Overpriced for what is offered.

Loved it was close to the train, the tram and three cafes , the weather allowed us to eat at all three.

Handy for trains & airport shuttlePosted Mar 27, 2014 on Hotels.com
Perfectly suitable for a one night stay. Decent shower & towels. Just don't run out of toothpaste as I did and have to pay 8 Euros at Reception!
