Good, basic accommodationsPosted May 25, 2014
Pros: Price was right. Staff was very helpful.
Location: The hotel is about ten minutes walk from the central tourist/shopping district. Also across the street from a shopping center, garage, taxi stand.
We arrived a little early for check in but they accommodated us. Room was clean and decent. Nothing special but completely adequate. The staff was very helpful in arranging taxis, storing luggage after checkout etc. The immediate surroundings do not include much in the way of recreation but you will find everything you would want in the nearby tourist/shopping district.

Good sleepPosted Feb 3, 2014 on Hotels.com
Well located to enjoy the attractive centre of Bordeaux - either using the tram network, or on foot. It's in an area of town created in the 60's which is an interesting juxtaposition with the beautiful streets and buildings of the very centre. Hotel was well maintained, staff were pleasant, rooms were comfy and I slept really well. I'd stay there again if I was back in Bordeaux - and would be prepared for the arrival this time!

Theft from roomPosted Jan 3, 2014
An article of clothing was stolen from our room during our stay last week. I travel 150 days a ear fro business and have only experienced one theft until last week at the Mercure. We reported it, but nothing has shown up. We're waiting to see why action the hotel takes. Quel deception!

Ten minutes walk from Bordeaux centrePosted Oct 21, 2013
Pros: The position in Bordeaux was good. The hotel itself is spacious and clean with helpful staff.
Cons: The glass side panels of the in-bath shower need re-fitting. Having a shower flooded the floor.
Location: Bordeaux centre is only ten minutes' walk, full of good restaurants and shops. Bordeaux is a great centre from which to visit vineyards.
We spent three nights here. We've stayed in several Mercures and this one is particularly good on the whole. The staff were efficient and very helpful, the room was reasonably spacious and very clean. Only downside was the glass side panel of the in-bath shower didn't actually reach the edge of the bath, so having a shower resulted in a flooded floor. Mercure have a little-publicised offer on the go: people over sixty can have free breakfast brought to their room - oh joy! The hotel surroundings were roads and concrete, but the hotel is only ten minutes' walk from the centre of Bordeaux which is lovely with lots of pedestrian-only areas.
