Great hotel close to Fenway

Posted Nov 19, 2014
Pros: Convenient location and great price for Boston
Cons: Need to put small coffee maker in the room for those who are very early birds and need a cup of coffee early before restaurant opens.
Location: Excellent location at intersection of Commonwealth Ave, and Beacon Street and BU campus, and near the Kendall Sq MBTA station
Excellent hotel with a great price. Rooms nicely appointed, had a small microwave and small fridge. Has a nice small restaurant downstairs just off the main lobby. Room rate included a $10 credit for the restaurant A great deal! Very convenient to Kendall Sq MBTA T stop and very convenient for 7-11, Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, and Barnes and Noble huge bookstore Only downside is there is NO coffee maker machine in the room

Convenient location

Posted Nov 13, 2014
Pros: The Hotel Buckminster is extremely convenient to Fenway Park and that area of Boston. Easy walk to a number of nice restaurants and sports bars.
Cons: Room service would be nice.
The Hotel Buckminster is a decent place to stay in the Fenway part of Boston. The building is showing its age, but staff was courteous and helpful.

Very convenient location. Had great meal at on site restaurant. Well kept for a hotel that has been around for well over 100 years. Very convenient parking.

Surprisingly Stark

Posted Nov 7, 2014
While the location of the hotel was ideal for our stay, the quality of the room and the amenities in the room were surprisingly stark - old furniture, poor lighting and no amenities whatsoever. Very disappointing.

Old but charming

Posted Nov 4, 2014
Pros: Our room was upgraded, and it was amazing. .
Cons: The only thing that would've been nice if there was a vanity in the bathroom. Not enough counter space.
Location: Easy to get to with ample parking. Was not there for site seeing, although we could see Fenway from our room!
One of the better hotels in the Boston area! Hotel staff was wonderful!

Very helpful staff. Old building. Good restaurant.

The staff was responsive and helpful. The hotel is an older building. The associated restaurant is very good.

Pros: The grill was excellent. Service and food was excellent. Lobby was welcoming.
Cons: Provide some type of luggage assistance, lower your parking fees, and probably impossible, modify the elevator situation.
When I first arrived, I was surprised that they're was no valet parking, nor any type of luggage handling. There was one elevator one side and another on the other, which were both very small. The parking was $35.00 per night and the evening staff not too customer-focused. One exception to the rule, was Vincent, who helped me quite a bit in the mornings. Unfortunately, I will not be back as they are acclimated to business guests.

Boston Hotel Buckminster - Worst Hotel - Stay Away

Posted Oct 27, 2014
Pros: Nothing. The shower didn't work and the light coming into the room from the street lights and the traffic noise made it difficult to get to sleep.
Cons: Make sure the bathroom/shower is working properly. I strongly recommend the hotel invest in blackout drapes/curtains for their windows.
Location: The location could be an advantage. However because the hotel does not invest in the proper window treatments, the location is a disadvantage.
The Boston Hotel Buckminster may be the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. A couple of issues, first the shower in our room did not work. If you had a meeting or an interview - and wanted to take a shower - you'd have a serious problem. Second, the hotel is on Beacon Ave., one of the busiest streets in Boston, the only thing on the windows were blinds, that did little to block out the street lights or the traffic noise. Other hotels I've stayed at have blackout drapes/curtains, eliminating exterior light from entering the room, while reducing exterior noise. Maintenance doesn't arrive until 8:00am, so if you have an early meeting - your out of luck, your shower won't be fixed until after 8:00am. The front desk was helpless in resolving my problem, and management I was told doesn't arrive until around 9:30am. Fortunately, it was only a one night stay. I could not and would not recommend this hotel.
