Pros: Location was great. Great front desk staff and concierge.
Cons: The furniture and condition of the rooms was a little worn down.
Location: Fenway Park, local bars and breweries, shopping.
The staff at the hotel was great. The condition of the rooms was worn and dated, but the bed was very comfortable. Great location. Staff at the restaurant associated with the hotel was cold and short, and on one evening, closed the bar early because the manager had another obligation.

Disappointed

Posted Sep 10, 2014
Stayed at this hotel because of it's proximity to Fenway, but would have rather paid more at another hotel to walk further to the game. The hotel is old and not very well taken care of. Carpet is extremely worn, paint is missing, light fixtures were falling apart and elevator was broken. I wasn't expecting a 5 star hotel, but I wasn't expecting a roadside motel either. There is so much this area has to offer (Fenway, Prudential Mall, etc.) you'd think this hotel would want to make itself the "Go To" place to stay, but seems that is it is content with being just the closest hotel to Fenway.

Location,Location,Location.

Pros: It is in a awesome location for the Fenway experience.
Cons: The elevators are in rough shape, both of them broken down at least once each the night we stayed. I know it's an old building and it would be costly.
Location: As I have mentioned previously, it is a great location to explore the Kenmore Sq. And Fenway Park area of Boston.
If you want the total Fenway Experience stay at the Boston Buckminster Hotel it's location to Fenway Park and all the bar and restaurants is the best. We just stayed on Friday the 5th and had a great stay and great Red Sox game.

Nice, maintained, historic hotel in great location

Posted Aug 29, 2014
I was looking for accommodation close to the dormitories and Greek housing in Back Bay. I wanted to be close, affordable, and not have any hassles with the car and parking. The Hotel Buckminster fulfilled these needs, especially as the chain hotels nearer town got very pricey, as I was a late booking. Things to keep in mind -- parking is in a lot next door to the hotel, $35 overnight with rear mirrow tag from hotel, in/out access.

clean and comfortable

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: friendly staff, clean rooms.
Cons: Have a coffee pot in the room for the morning.
Location: location by fenway park, lots of restaurants, stores and very close to downtown.
Everything great except the restaurant. Extremely slow service. Waited close to an hour to receive our breakfast order.Next few days the orders still came slow but not as long a wait.

Nice hotel close to fenway park

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: convenient to fenway park
Cons: the parking
Location: ball game
this hotel is perfect if you are going to fenway park. its only a 5 minute walk. the rooms are nice and clean and the staff was friendly. the parking was tight and i dont think you should have to pay extra for it but at least there is parking. overall a great place to stay.

Perfect location for Fenway

Posted Aug 22, 2014
This is an older hotel with none of the bells and whistle or charm like a lot of others in Boston. Expect the basics. Having said that, this hotel was clean, the staff pleasant but most of all it was the most perfect location to Fenway park. If you are here for one night to catch the game (as we were) you can't go wrong. The food in the restaurant was good but the service slow.. only one guy to deal with the bar and serve tables. But the $10 off coupon we got at arrival was a nice surprise that made for a cheap lunch.

So close to Fenway!

This is the perfect place to stay if you are going to see the Red Sox. The hotel is beautiful and the staff is wonderful and helpful. There is a subway stop about a block away so you can get to the historical part of Boston easily!

Next to Fenway, and across from BU

Posted Aug 19, 2014
Pros: Location. Laundry room on each floor. Free wifi.
Cons: Finishes, furniture, TV's, elevator, stairways.
Location: Fenway next door. BU across the street. Mix of restaurants and fast food nearby. Starbucks 1/2 a block away.
An ideal location for our visit to BU. Adjacent parking, but no valet. Attached restaurant, sports bar vibe, serves breakfast. It was way understaffed for breakfast (20 min before I got coffee), food was good. Some parts of the hotel appear to have been renovated. Rooms we saw after check in had nice furnishings, modern TVs, fresh paint. Our room (a suite) had CRT TV's, poor lighting, a small table with two dinette chairs, a couch. A hutch/wardrobe in each room held the TV's, and had draws and hanging space. Large bathroom, with very little counter space. Window treatments were plastic plantation blinds, some of which no longer functioned. Microwave, and a small fridge, but no coffee maker/service for the room. HVAC was odd, too cold in the main room (which had the thermostat), too warm in the bedroom.
