Wonderful locationPosted Jul 23, 2015
The Buckminster fit all our needs. Great location, ckean and comfortable rooms. Loved the adddition of the microwave, counter and sink in the main room. The hotel is dated, but also possesses a classic charm. Would definitely recommend.

noisy location and "free" WIFI didn't workPosted Jul 22, 2015
Pros: Location to Boston University is great, nearby restaurants
Cons: have WIFI that actually works throughout the building, or be honest ahead of time that there is no WIFI. Install modern/thicker windows
Location: great French/American restaurant in same block, you can walk to Whole Foods
the building is older and has some charm, but the location was noisy... construction trucks and other traffic noise until late in the night (the backing up "beeps" of the construction trucks was very audible through the old/thin windows) and the WIFI did not work in the room at all. Worked fine in the lobby, but clearly not set up to reach every room. Staff was nice, but couldn't do anything to fix these problems, understandably.

Perfect proximity to Fenway Park.Posted Jul 21, 2015
Recently stayed at the Buckminster for the weekend, for a concert at Fenway Park. Very nice staff and clean hotel. The hotel is so close to Fenway, you can hear the music from the room.

Nice hotel great location to go to a baseball gamePosted Jul 13, 2015
Everything was great except for our hotel door the keys were extremely temperamental and despite getting new keys you had to play with it for several minutes to get the door to open.

Historic building in convenient locationPosted Jul 13, 2015
This is an older building, so it's not as modern as some hotels, but I loved its character. We had a huge suite with two good size bedrooms and a living room - plenty of room to spread out. The hotel is located 2-3 blocks from Fenway Park, Boston University and some restaurants. It's within about five blocks of the Newbury shopping/dining district. Boston Commons and the beginning of the Freedom Trail are located about a mile away along Commonwealth Avenue. We were able to park our car at the hotel and walk everywhere. If you are not much of a walker, a transit line is located one block away. We really enjoyed our stay here!

Check in not easyPosted Jul 11, 2015
We booked 2nights at this hotel, after checking in the first day we had to go down the next day before 11:00 and check in for the second night. Inconvenient and not necessary But great spot to go to a Red Sox game

nicely renovated hotel close to Fenway ParkPosted Jul 11, 2015
Pros: Proximity to Fenway Park
Cons: Really-I can't think of a thing.
It was wonderful to see a historic building renovated, but keeping its old world charm. The staff was wonderful and the room was both comfortable and clean. We were 5 mins. walking distance from Fenway Park and 2 wonderful restaurants. We ate at Island Creek Oyster and were not disappointed (best clam chowder ever). It was the 4th of July and the 2 block walk to The bank of the Charles River gave us a great view of the fireworks.
