Great Hotel in a Great Location

Posted Aug 7, 2014
This was a beautiful place to stay. The reach draw though is it's location. Boston is a 'walking town' but this is never more true than when you're departing from Copley Square. I was able to hit up all of the museums, sites, and a Red Sox game without needing a car. The staff was super friendly. There was a mix up with our breakfast order. We called the front desk just to get the order in and they quickly comped our meal, something that we were not remotely trying to get. They really care about service at this hotel and were nothing but courteous. The rooms were nice, as per usual with a Marriott hotel.

Good for business or pleasure!

Pros: Pretty much everything - location, amenities, cleanliness, friendliness....
Cons: The elevators are fairly slow but at least that they divide them by floors.
Location: Attaches to a mall as well as being near a Saks, Lord & Taylor, Barnes & Nobles, and a grocery store.
Convenient and close to lots - Bay, shopping, transportation. I lucked out with a corner room on the top floor that had a magnificent view! The guys who helped with putting my luggage aside before I could check in and the valets were wonderful! Nice to have water infused with fruit scattered throughout the hotel, and, a cookie jar near check-in counter.

Nice hotel, convenient location.

Pros: The location, the cleanliness and the friendliness of the staff.
Cons: The beds, for me, too soft; a bit firmer could be better. Not good for people with back problems.
Location: Tour bus stops right in front, beautiful shops within the complex
Boston is a beautiful city, much history, well educated people, clean. The hotel is wonderful, clean and the location is excellent.

Nice.

Pros: the room was good and the bathroom too.
Location: it is close to shopping area; however, you will have to walk 35 to 45 minutes to North End.
The hotel is OK. It is clean and the room is big enough. I think the hotel is huge tough. They were improving the elevators when we were there. Some staff was nice; however, some other was not nice at all. I would even say some of the workers were rude. The location is OK and the hotel is clean. I would go back. Take into account that it is close to the shopping area, which is nice. But if you are thinking about having dinner at the North End it will take you 35-45 minutes to arrive there (or 10 minutes by taxi).

Nice Hotel Close to Upscale Shopping

Posted Jul 29, 2014
Pros: The best part about the hotel is its proximity to the Prudential Center (connected by covered walkways) and upscale shopping.
Cons: Because of its size, the hotel wasn't personable; there were no extra touches (e.g., robes, turn-down service, etc.).
Location: One block from Prudential Center, the Marriott is within walking distance of the shopping mall, upscale department stores and nicer chain restaurants.
Personally, I had nothing against the hotel other than its size (i.e., nine elevator banks). Reflecting back, while staying in such a historic town as Boston, I wish I'd chosen a smaller boutique hotel with more character. The Marriott was in good condition, clean and close to shopping and restaurants, but it was so enormous and lacked any personal touches, such as turn-down service, greeters, robes, etc. The only time I spoke to any hotel representation was upon check-in. And for the clean-freaks, the light switches in the bathroom could have used a better cleansing. Upside: the king-size corner room was extremely spacious. Request it.
