History and comfy beds!

Posted Dec 11, 2014
Pros: The central location, friendly staff and the very comfy beds.
Cons: Easier access for those with poor walking and climbing ability, still will not stop me visiting again.
Location: The Rhode Island Mansions, the U.S. equivalent of our stately homes.
A great location with lots of local colonial history. Try a trip to the Rhode Island "Mansions" especially when decorated at Christmas.

Convenient location

Posted Dec 8, 2014
The Hotel is close to everything we wanted to see, and within walking distance. Shopping and historical sightseeing as well as Boston Commons are easily accessible. The Hotel bars are nice to kick back and have a few drinks. The only thing I really can't recommend is the breakfast buffet. We were seated at about 10:45 on a Sunday morning, and the food warmers were basically empty. There was one frazzled chef making omlets who acted like it was a highly unusual event for anybody to show up on a Sunday morning for breakfast. Our table cloth was dirty with coffee stains from a prior customer and the service was poor. The Hotel overall is a good place to stay and the staff is friendly and helpful.

Great downtown location.

Wonderful history in this hotel with traditional features maintained - I love the carved wood and beautiful chandeliers. Excellent access to Boston Common, tons of shopping, parks, restaurants with Antique shopping on Charles St a short walk away. A guest needs to remember that this hotel was built before some of it's neighbouring buildings so the room views are not all spectacular. My room had a "view" of stain glass window within 12 feet of my window. The room was cozy but smartly styled. The staff are wonderful !!

Pros: Nice lobby, room was quiet.
Cons: Room was on the small side, and we HATE paying extra for WiFi.
Location: Great location, walking distance to Commons and other sites.
A quick day and a half visit to Boston. Doing the tourist thing.

Fantastic central location and best concierge ever

Posted Dec 5, 2014
Pros: Our concierge, David, was fantastic. He helped us with about anything imaginable. extremely friendly and competent, willing to go the extra mile.
Cons: Due to the age of the property the rooms are not huge. Especially the bathrooms lack storage space and need renovation.
Location: Very central. Close to Quincy Market, Opera house, many restaurants, shopping etc.
We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. Its location was exactly what we have been looking for. Walking distance to the Opera and Quincy Market. This is a beautiful property and one can tell the grand history of this place.

Great location but small rooms

Posted Dec 1, 2014
Pros: Location, friendly staff, hotel interior decoration
Cons: Room layout
Location: Freedom Trail, Park Street Church, Fanueil Hall, Boston Harbor, Mass. State House, Chinatown
Hotel has a lot of character because of it's history. The staff were friendly and helpful and the location right by the Boston Common, on the Freedom Trail is great for sightseeing. Short walk to Fanueil Hall and Freedom Trail attractions. The only con is that the rooms seemed too small for 2 double beds, and there was little space to move around in the room or place our luggage.

Wonderful location and helpful and friendly staff

Posted Nov 26, 2014
Pros: Location and pricing for family of 6
Cons: Some of the rooms could be remodeled to make better use of wasted space.
Location: Centrally located between financial district and Boston Commons, walking distance to: Boston Commons, Aquarium, Quincy Market and Little Italy.
We stayed at the Omni Parker for 4 nights recently and had a wonderful time. This is one of the few hotels in Boston that is happy and able to provide reasonable accommodations for a family of 6. At check-in, a staff member overheard my daughter mention my birthday so they later surprised us with some complimentary desserts to help us celebrate the occasion. This was a nice and totally gratuitous touch that was much appreciated. We stayed in an executive room with 2 double beds and a fold-out couch. The room view was poor but we spent most of our days touring the city. The work-out facilities were fine. The location of the hotel is excellent if you like being close to Boston Commons, Quincy Market and walking distance to other attractions like the Aquarium.
