Great location!

Shops and dining galore. Plus the park is right there. Go for a walk at night after an amazing meal at Legal Seafood. The hotel will be much better once the lobby renovation is complete.

good price, great comfort

My rating would be higher if the construction in the lobby had not been ongoing. Room was small, but bed was comfortable, nice bedding. Quiet too. It was all I needed.

Under Construction!!

Pros: The location of this Hotel is wonderful. It is only a block from Boston Common, and an easy walk to Theaters and the Financial District
Cons: The public should be notified when making reservations that the hotel is in a major state of disrepair.

I felt like we should have been wearing hardhats as we entered the Boston Park Plaza. There was construction and scaffolding all around us. The Front Desk area was completely removed, with the Front Desk staff manning temporary stations that looked something like portable bars at a banquet function. There was no rhyme or reason at check-in - it was every man for himself. Only half the elevators worked so it took forever to get up to our room...and forever to get back down. There was no Lobby Bar, and no Room Service available. We have stayed here many times before, but we were very disappointed with our latest stay.

Staying in a Construction Zone

Posted Mar 30, 2015
Pros: Was under construction. Room needed renovation.
Cons: see above
The hotel entrance was closed off. The exterior was surrounded by scaffolding. The entire lobby was in full construction all day and all night. Outrageous that this condition was not disclosed at the time of booking. Nearby restaurant waitress told us that many people had commented that they were unaware of ongoing construction until they arrived for their stay. In case that was not enough, room was very small -- so small that TV was on side wall rather than at foot of bed. Barely enough room to walk past foot of bed because oom was so small. Bathroom was last renovated at least 20 years ago. Theres even a bottle open screwed on the back of the bathroom door. Seen that lately? Will not be back.

Excellent stay

Location: Close to the subway and Boston Common
We have stayed at the Park Plaza several times and we have always been pleased. The main lobby is undergoing a renovation and we were disappointed that the chandelier that used to hang in the lobby has been moved. Out with the old and in with the new might not be the best idea for this historic hotel.

This hotel is under renovation. While we were staing there the ground floor and reception area was a building site. There was no hotel restaurant or room service.
