Nice Boutique HotelPosted Aug 10, 2013 on Hotels.com
I liked this place. Cozy, clean, intimate and reasonably priced. Location could not be better in the heart of the Back Bay / Boylston / Copley Square area. Definately I will stay here again.

First floor is really the basementPosted Aug 10, 2013 on Hotels.com
Hotel is generally good and a good value for the location. I was told when I checked in that I had been upgraded to a premium queen on the first floor - room 101. But the first floor is actually the basement. The windows are right at street level so you see the wheels of the cars and feet of the people walking by. You really have no choice but to fully close the blinds which barely cover the window and do nothing to alleviate the street noise, Lesson learned - don't stay on the "first floor."

Poor ShowerPosted Aug 9, 2013
The position of the hotel is great although the rooms are fairly basic. Poor shower, not enough pressure and the shower head was the wrong size for the wall bracket and so flopped about all over the place. The continental breakfast wasn’t good, not much choice.

Great location!Posted Aug 6, 2013
This hotel was central to everything we wanted to see. Right next to a T stop and plenty of shops, restaurants, and bars. Hotel had a fun bar on the first floor that was open to the public. Staff were all helpful and friendly!! Elevator was broken during our stay so they offered us a free drink at the bar...nice touch! Also enjoyed the breakfast, small but very good. Only complaint was the pillows weren't very good and and the walls are pretty thin...common at most hotels though. It only impacted us because the people staying next to us had a yappy little dog that barked everytime someone walked down the hall.

Charlesmark At CopleyPosted Aug 6, 2013 on Hotels.com
Loved it. Hadn't been to Boston since I lived there years ago. I decided to stay in my old neighborhood by Copley Sq., along Boylston St. The Charlesmark hotel is a refreshing break from the typical cash cow chain hotels. Not only is it clean, modern and perfectly located in the heart of Boston, it feels like a very cool studio apt., not a homogenized hotel room. Take a left or right outside the front door and you're a mile-ish from Fenway or Faneuil Hall. My only complaint is how long service took when I ate at the restaurant. I was the only person seated outside and it felt like eons passed between visits from my server/hostess. She may have been serving everyone but I had to go to the bar twice, to get some attention. Having said that, the food and people watching was terrific. Definitely try the Charlesmark Hotel.

A little disappointingPosted Aug 3, 2013
Pros: Good location
Cons: Small rooms and beds
Location: Central to everything and a short walk to the botanical gardens and the start of the freedom trail
Good location. Clean and staff very friendly and helpful. However the room was tiny (it was smaller than our room on a cruise ship) and the bed was very short, 6ft2" and my legs hung off the end. The elevator broke so we had to walk up 4 flights of stairs, which is fine, but it was a mission to bring all of our luggage down when we checked out. For the money we spent on this room, I would rather pay a bit more and stay somewhere a bit more comfortable next time.

Small beds but helpful staff and great location!Posted Jul 31, 2013
Charlesmark hotel is in the perfect location- opposite the Boslton library in the heart of the Back Bay. Staff are helpful, rooms are clean and the hotel has a nice bar and good complimentary breakfast. Beware though- the standard rooms have very small 'double' beds so we ended up upgrading to a superior room.

Great stayPosted Jul 30, 2013
Great location in the Back Bay. I found street parking easily and the hotel staff recommended a great restaurant right next door - one of many to choose from. Room is small but clean and nicely laid out. The surround sound was cool but had trouble figuring out that I had to mute the tv so I didn't hear an echo. Breakfast was simple but good quality. Overall great experience.
