“so so!”

no place to get any food except asian, until I realized that there was a trader joe's behind (open until 10pm only, though). off the beaten path but walkable IF you have the time.

“Usually Satisfied”

This hotel has a great location and the staff was very friendly. However, our room was extremely hot when we first entered (felt like over 100). We promptly called and the service person came up right away. We were told that the hotel would not have the air conditioning turned on for a few days. Therefore we had to sleep with the window open to cool it down and that was pretty noisy. Given the nightly rate, there should be air conditioning throughout the year.

“Good value”

I used to live in Boston and go back frequently, so I know the area and hotel well. Convenient location - walking distance to Harvard, Boston University, MIT. Neighborhood is safe - a lot of students live nearby. Rooms are nicely appointed and everything was as expected. Staff members were courteous and helpful. Would have been nice if parking was included since the hotel has its own parking garage, but good luck finding a hotel close to Boston with free parking.

“Great Experience”

My daughter and I went there to visit Harvard and Boston University. The hotel is in a great location for both these schools so this was perfect for us. The surrounding neighborhood wasn't particularly nice though. The staff was exceptionally helpful and pleasant. There was nothing they wouldn't do for you. The hotel was very clean, the only minor problem was that the wallpaper was peeling in the room. The hotel runs an on-demand shuttle service for $5 a day which takes you to several locations in the Boston area and this was extremely useful and efficient. Overall, this was a great hotel for our trip.

“Great view of Charles River!”

I would recommend this hotel to anyone who needs to stay in the MIT/Boston area. It was very convenient and comfortable. I only wish that parking and breakfast was included, but I know that is not a common practice in Boston or most big cities. We would stay there again if we needed to go back to the area.

Area recommendations

We went there strictly to attend our nephew's graduation from MIT and Commission into the Army and did not really do muct sightseeing. We did go to Concord for one of the ceremonies and that is beautiful. And another ceremony was near the USS Constitution and there is a nice museum there that we visited. We also sampled some of the local restaurants near MIT and that is always fun. After the festivities, we then went North to Maine to do some antiquing and eat lobster and in New England the states are much closer together so you can visit different states in a short period of time and we checked out some of the quaint cities like Kenebunkport, ME and Mystic, CT.

“River View”

What a wonderful hotel. Perfectly located on the Charles River, near Harvard Square. Great staff, comfortable rooms with a lovely view of the river. Good value!

Outdoors or beach

Great hotel to stay in if you like to walk or jog. The river path on the Charles is right outside the door.
