Stayed for the night this past weekend for a sad occasion. The hotel more than made up for everything. Everything was great.

Disorganized

Posted Apr 14, 2015
Pros: hotel is modern and cleanly designed. Beds were comfortable.
Cons: Better organization of arrangements
Location: This Cambridge hotel is on the Charles River but not that convenient to Boston. No dining or entertainment are nearby.
Please be aware if you arrive w/ car, you will be charged $35.00 for uncovered parking - a high rate. We arrived to find the door of our room ajar, not locked. Second, our room was not provided with a rollaway bed per earlier arrangements. This meant our teenage son was assigned a separate room while we were 12 floors up. The room phones were mis-wired so we were linked to another room we were not in. The batteries in the door lock of our son's room lost their power and he had to stand outside and wait for them to be replaced. The breakfast buffet was modest and somewhat pricey (no, it was not complimentary.)

Parking issue not handled well.

Posted Apr 6, 2015
I did not carefully read the confirmation where a high parking fee was buried as an optional service. In my call to the front desk days before I checked, I thought they said parking was included, but there may have been a miscommunication. After I brought up the issue at checkin, management did not contact me about it during my stay. Nor did they call me after I checked out, when I left my telephone # and asked for a callback, twice. Unprofessional Room was fine, but unlikely to return.

Pros: Walking distance to places I wanted to go.
Cons: Maybe lobby work done on off hours, not sure that is possible though.
Location: We were in the city for a funeral, didn't do to much else.
Very late check in, front desk young lady VERY helpful.

Good and Bad After Renovations

Posted Mar 23, 2015
Pros: My room was neat, simply but comfortably appointed, and the staff are generally helpful and courteous.
Cons: Bring back fresh, hot breakfast items and lower the cost of parking.
This was my third visit to this hotel. The good news is that the rooms have definitely been updated nicely after renovations and wifi is free. And the staff will do their best to find you the best available room. It's also very convenient to Harvard and the Cambridge area. The bad news is that they've done away with cooked breakfasts and free parking. You are now forced to pay $32/day to park your car.

Not the typical Courtyard I am used to

Posted Mar 18, 2015
Room temperature controller not working and room was around 80 F. I was told by the staff to crack open the window to balance out the temperature. Fire alarm was going off telling the occupants to evacuate and then found out to be a test. Staff not that friendly either.

good location away from the center (Harvard Square

Pros: pleasant staff; location
Hotel is undergoing a needed refurbishing, so things are a bit dusty and sub-par. restaurant is closed. carpets worn. appearance is worn out. Renewal should change things much for the better. In the meantime, stay elsewhere.
