short stay in Boston's North End

Posted Apr 14, 2014
Pros: Location to North End is good and it has a very modern vibe about it.
Cons: Service all of it.
Location: North End Boston, great restaurants, walking distance to Legal Sea Food, New England Acquarium and the T.
I chose this ocation by using Expedia's pick a 4 - 5 star hotel. While the Fairmont is lovely, I had a difficult time locating the front desk help, (noone there) No one at the restaurant stand to show us to a table. Very disfunctional staffing, took many minutes to figure out that a party of 3 can't fit at a table set for 2. Simply put, I would not go back. It's rated 5 star but the service is anything but. The best thing I can say is it was close to all the Italian restaurants in the North End. Bad feng shui, very bizzare that the bathrooms would be not on the lobby level but down 2 flights of stairs. Not sure who designed this place but layout of the hotel is simply weird.

Fairmount Battery Wharf

Posted Mar 12, 2014
Pros: Nothing special. It was just okay.
Cons: Nothing they have control over.
Location: VERY out of the way and nothing within walking distance….two cab drivers didn't even know where it was!
Not much to do within walking distance of hotel, cabs hard to come by, no lobby, room service food good if expensive, weird limited appetizer like dinner menu, housekeeping inconsistent and no sundries shop although hotel gave us toothbrushes which we forgot to pack.

Great weekend staycation, perfect place to enjoy!

Posted Mar 11, 2014
Pros: The staff, perfect balance of helpful, friendly and pleasant without being in your face.
Cons: The only issue was with our car, after calling ahead for it to be brought up, they forgot and we ended up waiting another 20 minutes.
Location: No shortage on things to do, a scenic walk, a great hole in the wall restaurant in the North End, countless shops, if you want it you can find it!
Everything from the friendly and helpful staff to the perfect environment to enjoy a quick weekend away. From the moment we stepped out of the car to the inevitable ride home, there wasn't one moment when we wished we were anywhere else. We spent a well deserved weekend away, pampered ourselves at the spa, took a walk to the North End and enjoyed spectacular Italian food and wine and took a trip through the many little shops both in the North End and Quincy Market. The only regret was not making it a long weekend by coming home on time for work on Monday. Perfect!

Excellent Boston MA Hotel

Posted Mar 8, 2014
Pros: Rooms were large with decent bathrooms. The gym was open 24/7 which was great when suffering from jet lag.
Location: Lots of restaurants; ease of access to Central Boston
Fantastic visit to Boston for a study tour. The Fairmont Battery wharf was perfect for our group: relaxed, helpful staff, good gym, close to all amenities including some fantastic restaurants. Such a shame to leave.

Outstanding service & amenities!

Posted Mar 6, 2014
Pros: We were given an upgrade to a Junior Suite with some views of the Boston harbor, Bunker Hill Monument, and the Coast Guard Station. Perfect for two!
Location: We were able to walk to the TD Garden for our concert. This famous venue always has something going on: sports, concerts, etc. North End restaurants!
The Fairmont Gold experience at the Fairmont Battery Wharf (Boston) is exceptional service with many "freebies" to enjoy. From the very warm welcome with an escorted walk to the separate "Gold" building and full explanation of the room's features, to the complimentary hors d'oeuvres, dessert offerings, and breakfast buffet, we felt truly spoiled.

Fun at the Fairmont

Posted Feb 23, 2014
Pros: Comfort, location and amazing staff.
Cons: Pillows! Both rooms had pretty worn pillows ...
Location: EAT at the North End and go to the Aquarium ...
We stayed one night at the Fairmont to give our BC student a night away from campus. It was fabulously comfortable and perfectly located for easy access to North End dining and snacking. The workout room is terrific - and our "connecting" corner rooms opened to each other more like a suite. We had a blast! Thank you.
