The Atrium "View" room has no view

Posted Dec 15, 2014
The Atrium "View" room has no view. It's an inside room with one window that's about 9 feet above the floor. If you had a ladder, you'd be able to look out at the lobby. Room was not clean either

Pros: Clean and location, as well as price
Cons: Coffee pot in the room, would be a nice touch, even though Star Bucks is located in the lounge
Location: Location was key to several tourist spots...ie. north end dining..Fanieul Hall and shops..as well as waterfront dining
Hotel was centrally located..close to the north end..loved Giacommo's rest. staff was very helpful with parking voucher and directions..cabin room was extremely clean, newly renovated..would stay here again..

Boston Nov 204

Pros: The walk in shower and bathroom was fab, the bed comfortable, on site starbucks good option for breakfast
Cons: tea coffee making facility in room for late afternoon / evening cuppa and maybe a little friendlier more informative approach on check in
Location: Boston is walkable anyway but the hotel is good for waterfront and quite a few coffee shops Irish pubs and restaurants
Enjoyed our stay at The Harborside Inn a great location next to the T subway, therefore only 2 stops from the airport after a very short shuttle ride, close to the waterfront and short walk to restaurants and many Irish pubs. A very comfortable and relaxing feel to the hotel and great value for money at Boston prices, the hotel does what it says on the tin, check in was quick & efficient, room was good size and bathroom had a fab walk in shower. We did the bus/boat tour just to learn the history but you can also walk this city, Boston Common was very pretty, we went up The Prudential Tower and also highly recommend The Boston Tea Party museum, gret fun especially for kids and and very informative. Big plus for me was the great Irish pubs with live music.

You can do much better than this.

Pros: Only its location. It seems like an entity that tries to fake its way through everything they are offering, and has little regard for the guests.
Cons: Responsible management. Try seriously maintaining the rooms and improve staff relations with guests.
Location: The location is wonderful. Just steps from Fenniel Hall and Quincy Market, across the street from the aquarium and the Hop On and Off trolly.
I was supposed to have an "atrium" view room. Apparently that means "overlooking the air duct". It was like a narrow closet and horrible. They prop enormous mirrors against a wall in the rooms to make them feel larger, but it is a pathetic strategy. These rooms also do not have bathtubs. I explained that this is not what I understood I was getting and asked to change to a room with an authentic window. The next room was slightly larger and actually quite nicer, with two street facing windows. However, I soon realized that the heat did not work and only blew cold air. They could not repair it and I had to move again to a third room. This was was the least nice of the three, with a refrigerator door that couldn't even be closed. It had a window but you could only look to see out of it if you climbed up onto a chair. It did have working heat, however. I had made reservations for 2 nights but was so disgusted I cancelled the second night in complete exasperation. It turned out that Harborside was a wonderful mistake. I checked into the Sheraton at the Prudential Center for only a few very reasonable dollars more and ended up with a spacious, gorgeous room on the 29th floor with two huge picture windows and panoramic views of the city of Boston. And besides being one of the best rooms I have ever enjoyed (at the Sheraton), it had exceptional heat and authentic bathtubs, with many more amenities.

Good price for location

We had an interior room on the 5th floor. This meant the room was very quiet. A must for us since we were traveling from the west coast and wanted to sleep in the next morning. However, the window of our room looked out onto the atrium of the hotel. There was bright light shining all night with only metal blinds covering the window. If you need a dark room to sleep in, this is not the hotel for you.
