Go Holiday Inn, skip the Hampton

Posted Sep 29, 2014
Pros: Recent renovation, low cost
Cons: Breakfest
Location: Easy access to Cambridge
Don't even consider the Hampton inn down the street. Holiday inn is less expensive and recently renovated with fridge/microwave in the rooms and much cleaner/newer feel. Best stay for your dollar in Cambridge.

Nice hotel relatively close to the T

Posted Sep 14, 2014
Pros: Good price, free parking and relatively close location to the T (public transportation). Breakfast and all day coffee and tea.
Cons: Second queen bed could be located a bit further away from the bed. Temperature of the room had to be raised in order not to freeze the person near AC
Location: Close to the T, Science Center and a good size shopping mall. Down the street from a grocery, drug and dollar store. Lots of food options nearby.
Overall experience was good and the rooms were very clean. Staff was great. Breakfast option was good but was fairly consist throughout the entire stay.

Eh, it's ok

Posted Aug 28, 2014
Pros: Close to airport
We stayed one night - to catch a flight the next morning. Pro's - close to airport. (If you disregard all the road work going on - which has nothing to do with the hotel.) Room was clean. Con's - LIMITED parking at the hotel. They have an abandoned parking lot across a busy strip for additional parking. We lucked out and got the last spot at the hotel - however, everyone behind us had to go across the street. I remember thinking I'm SO glad I'm not them. No pool - although this is mentioned if you read the amenity list before booking. The soda/water machine was broken. I had to go to the front desk to buy a water bottle out of there "store". Where the water bottle was double the price of the machine. All and all - it's good for an over night stay. It's good for adults catching a flight. I wouldn't recommend it for a family who is staying longer than one night.

Hidden Gem

40th Birthday! I arrived to find a birthday cake in my mini fridge which shows the quality of service they offered. The rooms were very modern and clean...they made great use of a tiny space which is common in big city hotels. Beds, showers, etc were all perfect...only point I could make was that you could hear noise from the halls, but it really isn't the hotel's fault if people aren't being respectful and quiet when in the halls right? Location - this will differ for some, but I don't mind walking and if you're going to Boston, you're most likely there to walk around and see the sights. From the hotel, you can walk 25min. and be at the TD Garden (stop #4 for the Trolleys) or you can walk 15 min down Third Street and be at MIT/Kendall Square (stop #13 for the Trolleys). I'd say that's pretty convenient. Free parking and breakfast with a number of options to choose from....if you're fussy about food, then go to a restaurant and don't complain...they do a great job. Surrounding neighboorhood...I can't stress this enough...don't be fooled by the old warehouse and liquor store across the street. If you make a right turn out of the hotel and walk the opposite direction, it is a quiet, beautiful little town that feels very safe. You'll have a hard time finding better value in the city and I'd definitely make it my first choice when I return!

Dear Mark - We can see that you enjoyed your birthday trip to Boston and thank you for sharing your comments. We echo all of your sentiments and believe that some guests are fooled by our area and don't see how special the neighborhood (especially Cambridge Street) is until they actually get here. And with the T so close to us, getting to Boston is just that easy. We hope you choose to spend another future birthday with us!

AREA WAS QUESTIONABLE, AND THERE WAS MINIMAL PARKING FOR GUESTS. ROOM DOOR WAS DIFFICULT TO UNLOCK FROM OUTSIDE. OTHERWISE IT WAS FINE

close to leechmere transportation hub.

Posted Jul 17, 2014
Cons: Air conditioner vent blew directly on the bed . There was no way to redirect the air. It felt like I was sleeping in a wind tunnel.
Easy walking distance to transportation hub. it was easy to get into Boston or downtown Cambridge.

Nice hotel in Cambridge

Posted Jul 16, 2014
Nice hotel located in Cambridge at walking distance to MBTA bus & train station (Lechmere station), science museum and duck tours. Only a few stops on the train to go downtown Boston and visit all the attractions. Hotel staff was super nice and recommended us a great pizza place just a few blocks away. Good breakfast buffet. I would definitely go back to this hotel.

All if good except the charge they made for my long distance to Montreal, which only last less than 2 minutes. It costs me 7$ :( . I hope they could do something about this! Overprice!! expensive!!!
