Very nice and enjoyable stayPosted Nov 22, 2013
Pros: Clean rooms and conveniently located downtown Boston, great staff.
Cons: I have no suggestions.
Location: Located in downtown Boston, Chinatown, historic distric, Quincy market, Fenway Park, Providence Mall are all within walking distance.
I had a very nice stay, staff were friendly and very helpful with directions. I was there for a professional conference, hotel was located within 3 blocks. Easy access to good restaurants, 2 T stations (subway), many cafes and good places to have a hearty and healthy lunch and Providence Mall is only a 10 minute walk. Got on the blue line subway at the airport changed to green line at Goverment Center and got off at Copley, it all took 35 mintues.

Great location for Boylston and Newbury StreetsPosted Nov 11, 2013
Location great! Accommodations OK. "Nothing to write home about". Bed rather soft. Back entrance someone was smoking and walked out door as we entered. Staff very helpful and friendly! Rooms need some updating. Quiet.

Doctorate & the World SeriesPosted Nov 7, 2013
Pros: Great location. rooms small but adequate. Helpful, friendly staff. Across from Flours, a great bakery, coffee shop, eatery.
Location: It's located on Clarendon, a block from St. James street and Copley Square. Very nice area.
My wife & I stayed here during a visit to see my son present his doctoral seminar at Harvard Med. Fortunately we book well in advance because the Red Sox won the series the day of the seminar. The hotel staff was very nice and quite helpful calling cabs and recommending a sports bar to see the game. Rooms remind me of Europe, small but functional. Ours had a queen bed and the room overlooked the city. Tight squeeze around it, but then we weren't spending a lot of time there. Bath has a shower stall and pedestal sink, again functional but small. Great location and it's across the street from Flours, a great place for breakfast pastries, sandwiches, and salads. I would definitely stay there again.

Nice close to shoppingPosted Nov 5, 2013
No parking. The parking lot next door is a ripoff. It advertises for $ 10.00 but they charge you $ 28.00.

Had to stay in Boston for one night and needed a place to stay fast. Good location, clean rooms but a bit odd. The lobby is really nice but the hallways and rooms feel like a renovated and cleaned up college dormitory. Overall it's a good place to stay.

Good, basic accommodationsPosted Oct 31, 2013
Pros: We arrived well before check in time but the front desk staff found us a ready room. The location was good.
Cons: Better showers. Upgrade the coffee machine. A household coffee maker doesn't quite do it.
Location: Located near Copley Square. Within walking distance to the Freedom Trail. That's if you like walking as we do.
We stayed here for 2 nights. We didn't want to pay the high rates at the other downtown hotels. The Hotel 140 is a good, basic, no frills place to stay. We stayed in one of the standard rooms. The room was rather small but clean. The only negative I can speak of was that the shower head was poor. There wasn't much water coming out of this thing. The hotel was the former site of the national headquarters of the YWCA. The rooms appeared to be previous residence rooms for YWCA residents. There were still a few floors dedicated to residents. If you are looking for a clean place to sleep, you won't go wrong here. If you need more in the way of extras, you'll be disappointed.
