Boston Home Visit

Posted Sep 8, 2014
Pros: Convenience, decor, everything I needed was in the room and the bed is wonderful!
Cons: toothpaste in the minibar? I had to stretch, there is really nothing.
Location: Walk along the water area or just gaze out the window - beautiful views.
I was looking for places to live on a relocation trip. The staft took the time to find out why I was staying in the area and then offered to help me with understanding the areas! I felt right at home. 1 year lease please!!

Pros: Comfy beds, friendly staff, clean
Cons: Lower or no parking fees. Free wi-fi. More information about surrounding areas.
Location: Boston is a short drive but too far to walk. There is a trolley stop just around the corner but we were never told about this.
Friendly staff, comfy beds. No wine reception heard of or offered. Parking is extremely expensive and should be included as should free wi-fi. More information about surrounding areas should be given, when asked where to have dinner within walking distance other than their restaurant we were only told of an upscale expensive Italian restaurant across the street when in fact we were attached to a mall with a Cheesecake Factory and P.F. Changs, there was no mention of this and we arrived at night and spent a day in Boston so came back at night after that and did not see this mall. We traveled with 3 kids, one 10 months so the upscale dining was not convenient or suited for us. Also the phones were down when we wanted to order room service so either we had to order at front desk or go to the restaurant for breakfast, very inconvenient with 3 kids, especially an infant. We were never offered any consolation for this inconvenience at all. We had breakfast at the restaurant & two out of four of our meals were bad. The pancakes were dry & had a burnt butter taste & my over easy eggs were practically raw, the manager did remove the pancakes from the bill & was very apologetic. The french toast was amazing & the scrambled eggs, toast, bacon & potatos were good as well. It is a nice hotel and I would stay again but the front desk staff should be more informative about the surrounding areas & some consolation should've been given for the inconvenience of no phones for room service.

Great location near Kendall Square

Posted Sep 8, 2014
Pros: Location, lovely rooms, and great staff.
Cons: I found the bed to be a little too soft for my comfort level. Also there was a hotel wide phone outage the day I checked out.
Location: Location is great. There is a large urban mall around the corner w/ tons of restaurants. Also a reasonable walk or short can ride to other food/shops.
Overall my experience was a good one. The staff is fantastic--friendly, professional and helpful.

Lovely staff, very dog friendly

Posted Sep 8, 2014
Pros: Room and bed were comfortable
My husband, beagle and I had an absolutely lovely stay at this hotel. I would highly recommend it to anyone, but especially to someone traveling with a dog. Our dog was warmly welcomed and given excellent treatment during our stay. I really appreciated that and would absolutely return to this hotel.

Beautiful hotel right outside of Boston

Posted Sep 2, 2014
Location: Close enough to explore Cambridge, walk over the pedestrian bridge to Boston, go to the science museum, and check out university campuses in the area.
This location was excellent for folks who want to be (or have to stay) a bit outside of the city. The area is beautiful, and so close to the really amazing science museum. The room was spacious, the hotel itself was gorgeous, the complimentary wine each day was a nice touch, and the restaurant attached to it was great for brunch. Would definitely stay again!

Good location but people are outnumbered by dogs

Posted Sep 2, 2014
Pros: Location is good. Coffee and cold water in the lobby.
Cons: The restaurant is severely understaffed, it takes 15 minutes to get a beer.
The hotel is in a fairly good condition but one could only wonder what all those dogs do in the rooms when left alone... I spent probably 45 minutes having a coffee in the lobby and I counted at least 20 dogs of all sizes. Not a bad thing if you're a dog lover I guess, but there should be a big warning sign about this for those of us who prefer the company of people. The room we had included "wine reception" but we arrived late and the "reception" was apparently over. We were given a voucher good for a drink at the bar instead. We didn't use it right away as it was late and the voucher vanished the next day when the room was "cleaned" although it was placed with other personal things. Not the kind of cleaning I had in mind at a 4-star hotel...

nice boutique hotel in Cambridge

Posted Aug 31, 2014
Pros: very clean bathroom, luxurious beddings. Valet parking same cost as self-park, $20 which i believe is cheaper than most hotels in area.
Cons: quality of iron
Location: We had a car, so I did not look into whether this hotel was convenient to the T.
If you are looking for a hotel with some character and more special than chain hotels, this is a great choice.

Quieter location than Boston

Posted Aug 27, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Bed quality could be improved. Dogs should not be allowed.
Location: Close to Lechmere T Station. Close to Cambridgeside Galeria. P F Changs is next door.
A pleasant enough stay but bed quality could be improved. Also it was not possible to use the outside area due to people smoking and dogs on furniture.
