Best in Cambridge/Boston area

Posted Apr 15, 2014
Pros: I liked the restaurant the Bambura; incredible brunch but even better dinner options. I also liked the room, it was exquisite and supremely comfortabl
Cons: There is a situation with the knob on their shower; you have to try very hard to get it to work properly, they may want to change that.
Location: There's not enough space to share the things to do near by, but I'll try - Mall, Museum, Eating, Shopping, Walking, Duck Tour, Bike Tour, Jogging, and
I kept thinking "wow this place is expensive" they charge for everything, including parking. But then, when you experience it you quickly find out that it's all worth it. The hotel is exactly what every hotel should be, along with some incredible luck and good designers. Lucky because this hotel is connected to a mall, they even share the same parking lot. The great thing is that you can walk to the mall in your PJ's if you want to, which we did and enjoy some Starbucks, Cheesecake Factory, P.F. Changs, or another really incredible Thai place I can't remember the name of (along with shopping for Boston paraphernalia). To make them even luckier, the Hotel Marlowe is walking distance to the Science Museum. It also took us only 10 - 15 minutes to drive to Copley Square/Beacon St/Newbury. To top it all off the art is calming, the leopard towel robes in the room are hysterical, and the accommodations are 5-star.

Nice hotel but not value for money

Posted Apr 11, 2014
Perfectly nice but for $330 it was no better than a four star. Rooms were small and including and charging for a wine reception that was over when we got there is ridiculous. It was very inconvenient to Harvard - 30 mins to go 3 miles due to traffic and construction so don't recommend this for a Harvard visit. Also it's next to a mall but otherwise in a sort of mesh of busy roads with nowhere to walk to if you want. Again hotel is fine with excellent service but way overpriced in my opinion.

Thanks for your feedback, although it does sting a bit to read your comments. We are only a few miles from Harvard, but road work can play a part unfortunately and it sometimes takes a bit longer. I drove there today and it was about 10 minutes (30 minutes is true for rush hour)... Also, to clarify, we do not charge our guests to join us for our hosted wine receptions, it's part of the Marlowe experience and it's one of the things that most of our guests love about the hotel, so I apologize that you felt differently, but i do appreciate your feedback. Almost perfect

Posted Apr 10, 2014
Great location, comfortable and clean rooms, wonderful and helpful desk staff. The front door valet on the day shift is awful, he is less than helpful, never opens the door as he is either walking in another direction or talking on his cell phone. All of the others were 100 times better. Please put fans in the bathroom! Otherwise this is a favorite destination for us.

Thanks for sharing your experience, I appreciate it. I will personally address the issue that you brought up about our doorman. Not only is that not ok, but it is definitely something that is not typical for us here at the Marlowe. Thanks again for sharing! Joe Capalbo, General Manager

Great Place!

Posted Apr 7, 2014
Pros: Everything inside.
Cons: You can't move it, so location remains the big issue.
Location: Not good
We loved everything about it, price, comfort, staff, except for one thing, location!

very comfortable friendly hotel to stay in

Posted Apr 7, 2014
Pros: . the room was very comfortable The staff helpful The price was the lowest in the upscale hotels
Cons: The restaurant could have more vegetarian and vegan options.
Location: the location was good, but not as close as one might like to public transportation. I had to take taxis from the hotel , but there were taxis waiting
I enjoyed my stay The staff was helpful when needed. I forgot my contact solution and they had one and gave it to me at no cost.

great hotel, close to everything

Posted Mar 29, 2014
Pros: Charming, great character. Nice, helpful staff, comfortable rooms
Location: close to shopping, T stations, and cabs are readily available. Restaurant on site, and many w/in walking distance
comfortable, nice hotel, with few ammenities. Great, helpful, and knowledgable staff. Rooms are nice, beds super comfortable. Bathroom needs updating, showerhead faces wall, making it difficult to take a quality shower. Wi fi almost nonexistent, and TV works sporatically. Nice wine reception daily, and restaurant has great food. Connects to Galleria, so very convenient. I recommend this hotel if you can stand the few quirks.

Thanks for sharing your experience, I appreciate it. I love when comfortable is the first word used to describe us! Thanks also for your comments on the bathrooms and WiFi, I will look into making some improvements where we can. In fact, we just upgraded several of the access points for WiFi, so we should see an improvement in several areas of the hotel. Thanks again for sharing. Joe Capalbo, General Manager

Cozy, romantic, very friendly, convenient

Posted Mar 24, 2014
Pros: Everything
My husband had surgery and I stayed here for 2 nights while he was hospitalized in Boston. I felt guilty for having such a delightful time!! Just perfect. Starting from the wine cocktail hour, great room service, and the most comfortable bed and pillows. I will return, next time with my hubby.

Wonderful family hotel

Posted Mar 17, 2014
We keep going back to the Marlowe because of its great location (right near the Museum of Science), attention to detail and comfortable rooms. Nothing is run down or needs replacing. Anything you need is quickly taken care of. The staff is pleasant and courteous. Our only regret is that we didn't get to spend more time relaxing in our room during our stay.

Enjoyable stay

Posted Mar 14, 2014
Pros: The powerful shower bed, comfortable bed.
Cons: Shower door should be improved to keep water not spilt.
Location: Cambridge Galleria, Green Line Metro, Bunker Hill.
Room is big and stunning, sheets and towels are clean, bed is quite comfortable. I like the shower head very much, although the shower door is not very tight, so the water kept spilting everywhere. 5 mins to the green metro station, 20 mins walk to the Bunker Hill, next to the Cambridge Galleria where has few more eating choices.
