Another great Kimpton experience**

Posted Dec 10, 2014
I adore this Kimpton brand...and the Hotel Marlowe did NOT let me down! Rachel at front desk rocked and got me a great upgraded exec suite. The ONLY way to do this hotel. Do yourself a favor and upgrade. Valet, and front desk staff extremely helpful with transportation ideas. Bar staff gave me lots of cool advice on what to do in the area. Room was really clean, fully stocked fridge, campy but nice deco style. I liked it a lot! Super personal feel. Feels like visiting friends. Good energy here.

Thank you so much! Nothing makes me happier than hearing about the "good energy" we have at the hotel. I promise that will never change! Thanks again! Joe

Could have been better

Posted Dec 4, 2014
Pros: Didn't really see anything that made it stand apart from other hotels I stay at.
Cons: See my comments above
My room key didn't work and they made me 15 of them, had a lamp that didn't work in the room and another that wouldn't turn off. There were issues with the HVAC. I had my AC on and my room never got below 75. They said, that it was a old hotel and they experience that once in a while. I had to ask to switch rooms since they never offered.

Great hotel close to TD Bank Center

Posted Dec 3, 2014
Pros: Clean, nicely decorated, comfortable and close to many other amenities
Cons: Nothing I can think of...
Enjoyed a relaxing night with friends at the hotel to attend a concert at TD Bank Center. Valet parking, wine hour made the night effortless!

Gorgeous hotel with great restaurant!

Posted Nov 24, 2014
Location: Very close to the Museum of Science, about a 20 minute walk to MIT.
My daughter and I stayed here during a recent weekend visit. The rooms were nicely decorated and very comfortable. We especially liked the friendly staff and late checkout time. Dinner at Bambara was excellent and I highly recommend the herb french fries!.

Weekend Getaway

Posted Nov 6, 2014
Pros: Exceptional staff, clean rooms, nice bar/ restaurant.
Location: Perfect location for sightseeing or doing anything in the Boston area.
Staff at the hotel made the trip a pleasure. Everyone we met at the hotel made my wife and I feel special. Our dinner reservations and transportation were handled by the hotel staff and were greatly appreciated. Next trip to Boston area will definitely include a stay at the Hotel Marlowe.

GREAT location and wonderful staff....

Posted Oct 28, 2014
Pros: The staff!!! The bar.... The rooms and the bed (very comfortable) and the excellent location.....
Cons: Coffee!!! A more cheery bar tender on a Saturday / Sunday night (please). Plus bar was closed when we got back from the restaurant at 10:30 PM Sunday.
Location: EVERYTHING!! The "T" is a short walk away away - or (if the weather is nice) a short walk across the bridge takes you to Beacon Hill and down-town!!!
This is about the tenth or twelfth time that I have stayed at this hotel and I have never had a bad - or even marginal - experience. It is *not* cheap, but - in my opinion - it is worth it.... The rooms are very quiet, the bar area is well maintained and some of the bar staff go well "above and beyond".... but not all. The front desk folks are great - friendly, cheery, helpful and very professional and the overall upkeep is excellent. Food is also good but there are plenty of excellent restaurants in the surrounding vicinity as well. Never (ever!!) will understand the "no coffee in the room" policy (???). So my advice is to be prepared to a) argue about who has to pull on clothes and trek down to the lobby to get the coffee (or order the room service) and b) if it's you that loses, getting scalded hands on the way back up to the room - this stuff is HOT!! I also don't get the lack of fan in the bathroom(s) so things get steamed up and there was not mirror in the room (???). But everyone knows these are really *very* minor "niggles" on yet another exemplary stay!!! Thank you!!

Thanks for sharing and more importantly thank you for your loyalty to the Marlowe over there years! Just a quick note, we do have coffee machines available upon request. We can add it to your profile to have one in the room for if you'd like? Thanks again! Joe Capalbo, General Manager

Friendly staff, WORST beds we have every slept on

Posted Oct 16, 2014
Nice-looking hotel...but VERY expensive for what you get. Staff was friendly. If you are needing WiFi service DO NOT book here. It took us over 30 mins and 5 phone calls to the front desk to get our WiFi working. It only started to work because they finally sent someone to our room to go through the enrollment process (which is cumbersome and incredibly tedious). Most hotels make it easy to use WiFi (e.g., simply entering your room number and last name). This was certainly not the case here. It felt like a job interview with 85 questions just to get onto WiFi. Once WiFi worked, it was totally unreliable. Calls and internet connection kept dropping and speed was slightly faster than dial-up modem. The beds looked so inviting and comfortable, but both my business partner and I woke up with sore necks and backs because the pillows and mattresses were WAY overly soft. Zero firmess at all. Whoever was in charge of purchasing the mattresses for this hotel certainly didn't consider that some people like firm, some like soft. The logical thing is to find a middle ground. We had such a horrible night's sleep that we had to cancel morning engagements.

Thanks for the feedback. We are upgrading our entire WiFi service this week and the speeds should improve, I am so sorry that it was unreliable for you during your visit. Usually we get great feedback on the comfort of our mattresses, so I am concerned about your comments and will definitely address the issues you mention with those particular mattresses. Awful decor and loud music. Comfortable bed. Not relaxing overall or worth the price
