Do Not Use Expedia Unpublished Rate for this hotel

Posted Apr 5, 2015
Pros: Clean, nice decor.
Cons: Honor the guarantee that you worked out with Expedia. Equipment in the gym could use an upgrade.
Hotel was clean, comfortable and the location was pretty good. I booked a room for three people (2 adult, 1 child) using the Unpublished Rate. The "guarantee" is that the room will sleep the # of people but not a guarantee of the # of beds. One would expect with the booking profile it would be at least two beds. Upon arrival we were told we would only get a single bed but they would "waive" the cot fee. A cot is not a bed it is a cot. Especially if you are paying for a 4+ star hotel, even with a discount. If the fine print is that a cot is a bed put it in the fine print. Be warned, you can sleep lots of people if you plan to use cots. You could book for a family of four and they would squeeze in 2 cots. This hotel gets a low rating because they would not honor this "guarantee." They claimed to be full but there is no way. They simply did not want to make a room change. I have requested a refund from Expedia. We will see how they respond to this request. The Unplublished Rate it no good for anything other than a couple that is willing to sleep in the same bed.

Warm and inviting retreat.

Posted Apr 3, 2015
Location: The Cambridgeside Mall, kayaking in the river, TD Garden, the T, Harvard, the North End, Beacon Hill, the Public Garden, Fenway Park.
I survived the end of the Boston Snowpacolyspe 2014-2015. Luckily, The Hotel Marlowe was there to greet me and my family in a warm, stylish setting, with free wine in the evening and coffee in the morning. The hotel is in an excellent location, next to the Cambridgeside Mall and near the Charles River. Kimpton Hotels have been my favorite places to stay, and the Marlowe shows the consistency of the brand. I can't wait to come back to Boston and Cambridge. Hopefully it will be warmer, and a Kimpton hotel.

Wasn't that snow terrible? Nothing better than a glass wine in our living room by the cozy fireplace to help put it out of your head. Thanks for the great feedback! Joe Capalbo, General Manager

What a treasure in the midst of Times Square

Posted Mar 30, 2015
Staff went above and beyond at every interaction to take care of us and make our stay pleasant. Upgraded our room just to be nice, and were accommodating when we arrive a bit before check in time because of an early flight. Great decor, very cozy and stylish. Walked everywhere from the great location, including around the corner to a last minute Broadway show.

Thanks for the great comments, but I think you meant for our sister hotel in New York City to get your lovely review. Thanks anyway and hope you stay with us when you come to Boston! Joe Capalbo, General Manager

Nice hotel close to the cambridge shopping areas

Posted Mar 30, 2015
Pros: Location and staff
Cons: Restaurant has limited menu
Location: Galleria mall, Harvard square and Kyndall square
This is a nice hotel close to Cambridge shopping area and also Mass avenue. The hotel is clean and hygienic. The variety of menu in the restaurant could be improved.

Nice Hotel next to the shops

Posted Mar 23, 2015
I had a delightful stay! The staff were lovely, the rooms were very comfortable and the lobby area was a nice relaxed area where you could grab a complementary drink (water, coffee or wine depending on the time of day). You can get to the mall without having to go outside. You are also a short walk away from tourist attractions and the Green T station where you can travel to Quincy Market, downtown shopping and Boston common or to the Copley area of Boston. I stayed for business but was there over a weekend too and this hotel was perfect for both business and pleasure. It is a dog friendly hotel and i did see lots of dogs in the lobby area so if you have animal allergies it may not be the place for you.

Modern hotel with well appointed rooms

Posted Mar 19, 2015
Pros: Wine in the lobby in evening, coffee in the morning. Helpful staff, very comfy bed and pillows.
Cons: Sound carried through the walls, could hear neighboring rooms and hall noise a little louder than some other hotels I've stayed in.
Location: CambridgeSide mall, downtown Boston, excellent restaurants.
Easy to find, easy parking in the mall garage. Quick check-in. Nice bed, big TV. Two bathrobes was a nice touch, plus all the usual. Wine glasses and wine bucket in room also. Overall a decently classy place. Just be sure to request a room with a view if you can, ours overlooked the courtyard; view of the river would be very romantic! Very quick access to downtown, the mall, and major highways and roads.
