Comfortable room, accommodating staffPosted Nov 30, 2014
Location: Near MIT, and near the Kendall Street T station.
The room was well supplied and designed; even though our room was across from the elevators, we did not hear noise once we stepped into the main portion of the room, because it is designed with a small hallway, where the bathroom and dressing area are. When we needed a refrigerator, extra towels, or other items, these were brought quickly. The telephone operator, doormen, front desk staff, and concierge, were all helpful and remarkably attitude-free. One extremely convenient feature is the hotel's free shuttle-bus service; this is really a 9-seater van, which really did take us where we needed to go and saved us a lot of money in taxi fares. Friendly drivers, too. Highly recommend!

Great Staff and Location. Cleanliness and Noise muPosted Nov 24, 2014
Pros: The staff.
Cons: The cleaning, maybe have a manger check the rooms after the cleaning staff. The prices for breakfast were outrageous too.
Location: Location was great. Within walking distance to shopping, restaurants, all the squares, and the MOS.
I would recommend this hotel for location and staff only. The location is great, easy to get around town and walking distance from many attractions. The staff was amazing, personable and helpful. The room on the other hand was dusty, there was gum stuck to the wall and a bottle on the floor, which automatically gives me the creeps because if they missed something that blatant what else did they miss. unfortunately the hotel was fully booked and we could get a new room. The heat was broken, when the maintenance man got to our room it was 58 degrees. He was very knowledgeable and fixed the problem with in 20 minutes, we were nice and toasty for the duration of our stay. And then there was the noise, no one in our room slept because of the horns blaring all night long.

This is not Spartan.Posted Nov 18, 2014
25 minutes from Fenway, this hotel became a place to rest my wary head after the 2014 Spartan Race held in Fenway Park. Use of their pool/spa facilities made dealing with the aches and pains fathomable after the race. The bar and restaurant did not disappoint either. Top notch all around. Great hotel.

Very disappointing, with a silver liningPosted Nov 10, 2014
Pros: the staff were aplogetic and tried to make amends
Cons: Assume people are non-smokers, unless told otherwise. Rooms should be upgraded or prices lowered.
Location: Close to both MIT and Harvard campuses and facing the river.
We called the hotel at 7pm to make sure they wouldn't give our room away since it was a busy Parent's weekend and we hadn't checked in yet. The room had been pre-paid, so the call was extra pre-cautionary. They assured us there was nothing to worry about. So we show up at 1 am, after a long day of parent's weekend activities; to an effortless check-in and a pleasant front desk. However, once we opened the door to our room we were blown away by the stench of cigarette smoke and the buzzing sound of a small machine that was unsuccessfully trying to neutralize the smell! On top of the smell shock came the 2 double beds instead of the king that was supposed to sleep my 6'5" husband and myself. And moments later came the bright blue toothpaste in the white sink that had been overlooked by housekeeping. If it wasn't 1 am we would've walked out, demanded a room change or our money back. Instead we called the front desk where they insisted that this was the last room in the hotel! To their credit, it didn't take much haggling before they offered to reduce the price in 1/2, and after the toothpaste fiasco was mentioned, they countered 1/2 off with a free stay. It didn't make the stay any more pleasant or the smell any better, but it did lessen the resentment that would've been felt had we been charged $450.00 for a room that was reminiscent of the old roadside motels of the 70's.

Needs a refurbPosted Nov 6, 2014
It's a nice hotel and the staff are great but the hotel itself is tired, dark, and drab.

Hotel has seen better daysPosted Nov 5, 2014
Pros: Location is excellent (at least for me). Room was clean. Bed was comfortable.
Cons: Make the guests feel like they are staying in a Hyatt Regency! This should not be hard to do. Freshen up the rooms and add a few more amenities.
Location: Right on the Charles River adjacent to MIT. Close to MIT (of course) and also BU. Great running along the River.
I had stayed in this hotel once before for an MIT reunion 4.5 years ago, and I was very pleased with it. It felt shabbier and less appealing on this visit. My room felt rather basic despite the fact that it was more than ample in size. The bed was comfortable. Amenities in the room and bathroom were basic.

Schönes Hotel, was in die Jahre gekommen istPosted Oct 29, 2014
Pros: Lage am Fluss
Cons: Zu laute "Eismaschinen"
Sehr hilfsbereites Personal.
