Close to MIT

Posted Nov 25, 2014
Pros: Location -- close to MIT, T, grocery store, Flour bakery.
Cons: Front desk service.
Location: MIT, Harvard (about 1.5 miles), Flour bakery, Miracle of Science restaurant, MBTA red line and bus service.
Overall, our stay was good, and we loved the convenient location. We used public transportation to get to the hotel from Logan, and that was very good. Having the Star supermarket right on the premises was also convenient and a money-saver. When we arrived, though, we were told that instead of the 2Q room we had reserved, we had a K room with a rollaway. When I asked why the room we reserved so far ahead had not been held, i was told that since I booked through Expedia, my reservation did not take precedence. The phones in the hotel went out during our first evening, and we had to walk down to the front desk twice to get blankets delivered so we could sleep. There was a mouse or other critter in the ceiling of our room, making little noises at night.

Good location, not a four-star experience

Posted Nov 22, 2014
Pros: Staff and location.
Cons: Better exercise facility, and the restaurant needs an overhaul.
it's a decent enough hotel but not at the level that I expect from the Meridien brand. When i checked in at 2pm the room next to mine still had a breakfast tray sitting in the hallway; i finally called that evening and asked someone to remove it. Restaurant is large, loud, drafty and food was just OK. Workout space is small- essentially just a room. Lobby is oddly shaped and not at all a place where you'd meet someone to chat. The staff were all very pleasant, but the overall experience was indistinguishable from a Hyatt or equivalent.

Booked this hotel for a visit to MIT; good location though there are some other hotels which are much closer to Kendall Square. This is a quiet location & it was very easy to walk around. The rooms are decent with a little wear & tear; b'fast was nice. The staff was very friendly!

Easy spot in Cambridge

Posted Nov 9, 2014
Pros: The staff was quite pleasant and accommodating. Easy spot for Boston or Cambridge.
Cons: The shades and lighting could both be improved. It was too bright in the morning and the lamps weren't bright enough at night.
Location: All sorts of things within 2 miles: downtown Boston, Fenway Park, Harvard Square, MIT, the river. This location was terrific.
This place was easy and quite awesome. Nestled between Harvard and MIT (and on a quiet side street), everything was easy. The room was comfortable (though a little bright in the morning…thicker shades would be good) and quite clean. There's a full-scale supermarket in the same building! No outside access required.

Comfortable Business Hotel in Cambridge, MA

Posted Oct 27, 2014
I needed to stay 1 night in Boston and found this hotel on sale at Expedia. At a 50% discount of their regular fares, I found this hotel as a great option for a business stay in Boston. Although the rooms are relatively small, they are comfortable. The personnel in the front desk are quite friendly and were able to provide great restaurant recommendations and directions. The location is quite good. Only 20-30 mins away from the airport and close to plenty restaurants and shops.
