We had kids, went to hotel early, the suite was not ready. The manager gave us two connecting rooms! Awesome service!

The hotel room was a bit shop worn for the overnight rate charged. The staff was wonderful.

Convenient to MIT

Posted May 11, 2015
Pros: General Layout, grocery store in building, pet friendly
Cons: continental type breakfast or something easy to grab. Many places have breakfast offerings that are included in the stay
This was perfect for what we needed. MIT track meet. Nice to leave car in the lot nearby and just walk everywhere. Quite pricey for families, but this was a special trip. We usually don't stay in major cities unless work or college related. The rate, however, was one of the more reasonable for the area and the hotel is beautiful.

Nice hotel close to MIT

Posted Apr 29, 2015
The hotel is close to MIT and within walking distance not only to the campus but also to many restaurants. There is also a restaurant in the hotel, as well as a full scale supermarket attached to purchase any amenities or food items. Upon our arrival we noticed that one of the in-room phones did not work, and one of the door locks was broken. The staff was alerted and promptly fixed the phone, but the lock was never fixed during our three day stay (we used the top lock as a security measure). The shower flow was lacking but all in all we enjoyed our stay. The buffet breakfast offered at the hotel restaurant was quite good offering a wide selection including made-to-order eggs, omelets and waffles. I would recommend this hotel.

Good value hotel

Posted Apr 16, 2015
Pros: I got into trouble at breakfast as I shouldn't have helped myself to anything from the buffet as I hadordered something off the menu. Stupid rules.
Cons: These rules at breakfast and a better ambience in the restaurant.
Location: There was a good selection of restaurants. I didn't go but there was complementary admission to the MIT museum. Local bus stop was very close.
What I found most pleasing is the room was very very quiet. Couldn't hear any sirens or honking of horns, this is because my room faced away from the road. What was also pleasing was the view of Boston skyline. Great wifi.

Expected better for price

Posted Apr 13, 2015
Cons: Sound proofing
Location: God location and near T.
Pillows smelt but were changed when complained. Toilet flush noisy and could hear flushes from other rooms. Also could hear conversations from rooms next door. Would not stay there again

Worst hotel stay in a while

Posted Apr 6, 2015
Sink is standing bowl style impractical for hotel use. Was slow drain and Fixtures old. Toilet overflowed and it took a while for plumbing and housekeeping to come. We did not ask but were not offered anything for our inconvenience upon checkout. Would not return.

Very nice hotel in the center of Cambridge

Posted Mar 24, 2015
Pros: Staff and location
Cons: add mini fridge and microwave to rooms so we can shop at the grocery store and have/prepare our own food
Location: MIT campus, MIT museum, Mass. avenue restaurants and shops, Charles river
This hotel and staff is excellent. The location just off of Mass Avenue is incredible with a lot of food and shops close by. And for those visiting MIT or MIT students, it is the absolute closest hotel. There's a great grocery store/super market connected to the hotel lobby. The only negative was an issue this time (I've stayed before and it was not an issue) with hot water. We didn't have hot water for about 24 hours. When we complained, they said they already had an engineer on the roof trying to fix it. The next morning, it was, in fact fixed, so certainly, the issue was negative, but their quick response a positive. The fitness center is good with enough equipment for 5 or 6 people to work out at once, but there is no pool. The restaurant is fancy with fancy prices, but it is elegant and people seemed to be enjoying their meals.
