Great location and quiet place to stay.

Had a great time in Boston. This was an excellent central location near subway stations and walking distance to many of the local attractions. The general area is relatively quiet. The hotel is in a historical building and has a nice restaurant and bar area.

Nice location, bad experience

Posted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Customer service
Location: Near the Public Gardens
Overall, a bad experience. There was no one at the front desk when I arrived. This was stressful because I was in a hurry to check in and get to a wedding, but in fairness, the staff would not have known that. The room was very, very small, and there was no trash can in the room. The bathroom light didn't work, so it was very dark in the bathroom. The phone in the room didn't work. There was a second phone in the bathroom that did work, but to use it, I had to hang out in the dark bathroom. Two hours after checking in, I received a series of voicemails and texts saying there was a problem with my reservation. I was at a wedding, but the message said to call immediately, so I stepped outside, waited on hold for 15 minutes, and eventually had to call the front desk directly. They explained that they had oversold the rooms that night, but would let me stay because I had already checked in. A little annoying to have to deal with this, but I understand that mistakes happen. Then, at 11pm, the same thing. More texts about problems with my reservation. Again, I had to contact them to see if I was being kicked out of my room... at 11pm! In the end, they let me stay, but the experience was a headache. I don't see a reason to go back when there are plenty of other nice hotels nearby.

Great hotel in the Back Bay area of Boston.

Stayed here on a family visit to Boston. We had a great time, which we all felt was enhanced by staying at the Loews. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

First time to Boston found the hotel to be very good location with every thing pretty much within walking distance. checking in was a breeze, reception friendly and helpful. nice large room with 2 Queen beds, very clean lots of space, very comfortable bed. Very nice bar in the basement and had a nice breakfast in the restaurant. Bar and restaurant staff helpful and friendly. Impressive lounge area with a great coffee machine serving up free lattes, cappuccinos etc day and night. Stayed for 6 nights wish could have stayed longer

Very enjoyable stay

The restaurant had a very limited menu, but there are lots of other choices within a 10 minute walk. The beds were very comfortable.

Chris, please accept my most sincere apologies for the poor experience. It is very disappointing that our team was unable to handle your request the first time. It should never take more than a single call for us to fulfill a simple request such as yours. I have shared your comments with our Director of Operations and he joins me in offering our apoloiges. Thank you again and we do hope to have the opportunity to make amends.

Great location to walk around down town. Staff were friendly and helpful. A fridge would have been handy especially for those travelling with children. Overall a well kept hotel in a great location.

Thanks John! We appreciate the review and while we are disappointed that we did not earn 5 stars, I do understand that a refrigerator would have been useful especially with children. While we are exploring long range permanent solutions, we do have refrigerators available upon request should you return to visit us again. I appreciate you sharing your experience and offering some ideas on how we can improve the guest experienece.

Beautiful hotel, central location, great service

Posted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: Décor , amenities, service.
Cons: more concierge staffing.
Location: close to subway station. Boston is not easy to navigate.
As New York City lovers , we decided to finally try Boston. The service we received at this hotel was definitely up to our standards. The staff was very receptive from the moment we walked in and even sent up a bottle of champagne and cake as a birthday surprise. The décor was very tastefully done and our favorite was the Apothecary library. The coffee machine a must. Loews has definitely gained two new LOYAL customers.
