“Centric, compact, austere”
Small, clean, quiet unless you turn on the air conditioning (but not unbearable), pretty much downtown.
“Great Little Hotel in S. Boston”
Great hotel you would be comfortable in. Lots of foreigners staying there, too. So apparently they also appreciated the reasonable rates. And the complementary breakfast. So if you are doing business or pleasure in the S. Boston area, this would be a great place for you to stay. I was really pleasantly surprised about how nice it was. Also near shopping and restaurants. A walk around the area before or after dinner will show you how beautiful this area is with its old classic building and architecture. Hit the Legal Fish Company, a block away from the hotel. Supposed to be one of the best seafood restaurants in Boston. I was satisfied. But ask them to really brown their salad croutons. They were like just cut up french bread, chewy. Ugg.
“Location, location, location”
This is a TWO star hotel. Bearing that in mind, the hotel is just fine. The staff are pleasant and efficient. The rooms are tiny, (you can use the sink without getting out of bed), but the Internet is free, fast, and painless. And the hotel is a five minute walk from the Green Line, the Red Line, and the Orange Line metro rails. A limo to the airport (good idea in the small hours of the morning) is affordable. If you want a view, don't look out the window; you probably need the exercise anyway. Walk over to Boston Garden. It and Back Bay are minutes away.
“convenient good low maintenance hotel”
Nice hotel for a short business trip or even good for students who need access to downtown boston, very convenient and good location.
“Great value hotel in Boston”
My wife and I stayed just the one night as we raced up from NYC for a whirlwind 30hr Boston visit 2 days before NYE. This hotel suited us perfectly as it was centrally located, very comfortable old world charm and the $$ were right, incuding a good breakfast. The room was more spacious than expected ( we were upgraded to a Queen Suite) and warm as toast (outside was -18C) Unable to fault this hotel. May not suite all folks especially for longer stays but hey for the price it's a steal.
“Great Location”
My daughter and I came to Boston for two days to look at a few colleges. This hotel was in a great location for the subway (the "T") so we were able to get everywhere we wanted with only a small amount of walking (we came by Amtrak). It is also in a great location for the theatre district and restaurants. It's from 1877 so I loved the building and the ambience of it all. And the free breakfast was lovely, especially because one of the staff made waffles for me.
“Nice Convenient hotel”
Nice Hotel very classic. Clean and comfortable. Reasonably priced for Boston area. very close to all attractions downtown and steps from the theater district. 12-15 minutes walk from South Station.
“Will return”
Loved this place! Excellent staff, great location, good breakfast to start the day. It's an older hotel, but quaint, quiet and easily serves needs to enjoy Boston and surroundings. Located in theatre district and in walking distance of practically anything Boston offers, but also right between Arlington and Boylston T stations. Assistant GM Eric is very helpful, as are Helen, Senia, Mary, and the wonderful George. Thank you all, Cherie
“Would definately stay again”
When we checked in we were placed in a VERY small room, but all we had to do was ask at the front desk and they were very accomodating, and moved us to a huge room for no charge. All the desk workers and other staff were extremely nice, and the breakfast was excellent (for a free hotel breakfast). The building is a bit old, but in reasonable shape and very clean. Excellent location. I'd definately choose to stay again.
“Perfect for me”
The Milner was an old hotel but lots of young foreigners were at the continental breakfast. This indicated they like the quality for the price, as I did. My room was small but adequate. The front desk was very helpful in answering questions about the subway, restaurants, shopping, etc. I would definitely stay there again.
