The hotel had a lot of things going for it but the two issues in our room ruined our stay. Busy things which are fixable. We reported them to the desk and hopefully they will be addressed. Just suggest you stay out of room 1414.

Well located

A nice modern hotel walkable from the main shopping areas of Boston. Close to Boston Common and in proximity to good restaurants. Nice large rooms. Only thing missing from the rooms is a mini bar.

Enjoyed the cold weather while in Boston..

Pros: The location, and the room pictures on Expedia were helpful
Cons: Expensive drinks at the Emerald lounge. If they would have not been so costly we would have ordered another round.
Location: Boston Common, easy walk to the subway, many restaurants and shops. We also rented a car and the Hertz rental office was less than one block
The hotel was clean and centrally located. The staff was helpful in providing information about ground transportation to the airport. We ate at the hotel restaurant (the wait was going to be one hour and it was only 6 PM so we sat at the bar for dinner. It was a bit tight and it took sometime for the bartender to take our dinner order. We then went to the Emerald hotel bar and order 2 drinks (Amaretto) $28.00 is a bid steep for a shot.

Disappointed

Posted Dec 15, 2014
Pros: Rooms were decent.
Cons: Service and lack of customer orientation.
Was disappointed with late check-in rules, which won't allow you into your room until 4:00. Very inconvenient and later than most other hotels. Check out is 11:00, which is earlier than most hotels. Also, the lobby is very uninviting. Really no bar or place to hang out and have a drink with friends. And location was just a bit off the main fun of Back Bay. Overall, I'd rather pay more and stay in a nicer place with better amenities, rules that accomodate rather than inconvenience the guests, and is better located. Also, ordered room service and friend got violently ill (I didn't eat, thank goodness). Overall, a very disappointing experience and glad I only stayed one night. On way out of town, stayed in different hotel.

All-round fantastic stay

We received a very good price to stay at this hotel. We were very pleasantly surprised with the spacious rooms, friendly service and modern decor. Small touches made it a memorable stay- for example a pillow menu! The position is also superb- close to a subway and both south and back bay stations.
