“Well above average”

I've stayed here many times; like the location and amenities. Two things, however, should be upgraded: the rooms need better (and more reliable) reading light, and the televisions are terrible - poor reception, difficult to change channels, and worn out remotes.

“Cant wait to go back”

A wonderful hotel right on the river, with windows from my room could see Boston Sky line, bridge and the rowers every morning, while I had my nice breakfasts. Excellent all around. I have traveled a lot so I know a good hotel when I stay in it. Beautiful art work and furnishings in the lobby. Nice large pool, never got to use it. Nice dining facilities, food was excellent. Very courteous staff.

“Highly recommend”

Wonderful situation next to the river and out of the crowded Boston area which you can reach within minutes by car. Wonderful light and contempary building with great contempary furniture and art. Staff enthusiastic and keen to please. Great blueberry pancakes in Dante for breakfast. Ind traveller room compact but pleasant - flat screen T.V's , great bedding. Hire car was useful due to location. I wish there were more of these hotels around the country!

“Wonderful modern hotel”

The Sonesta is a modern gem of a hotel. Well appointed rooms ( there was a flat screen plasma TV on the wall) with a clean, modern yet comfy look. Friendly service and a great location. An interesting plus is the hotel's collection of original modern art, including a Wharhol-- and there's a printed guide to all the public art. Nice convenient location in Cambridge. As part of a package it was a pretty good deal.

“Very Nice Choice for a Kid-friendly Stay in Boston”

This hotel has a great location, just around the corner from the Museum of Science and across from a mall with a shuttle van service that runs every 20 minutes to the Kendall/MIT subway stop. The room was a nice size for a city hotel (smaller bathroom, though) but plenty of room for the crib and all our belongings. There seemed to be many families staying at the hotel as well, and our little guy enjoyed the expansive lobby - while the older kids seemed to enjoy the pool. There are nice dining options on premises - we had room service the first night, which was quick, served late and very good; and the second night, I enjoyed a brief stay at the bar; and the third morning, we had a nice (if expensive and a little disappointing) breakfast in the main restaurant. The staff at the desk was friendly and helpful, the valet parking was cheaper than most options and efficient, and the bellman was prompt and very helpful. We will return - which is probably the best recommendation one can give to a hotel!

“Very good hotel. Friendly and helpful staff”

The Royal Sonesta exceeded our expectations. We were given a free room upgrade to a river view room with my sister in law given a single river view room next door. The rooms were very comfortable with a large multi channel TV on the wall and a clock radio with CD player. We enjoyed free river trips, ice cream and use of bicycles courtesy of the Royal Sonesta. We unreservedly recommend it.

“Very nice hotel, however the location is a bit difficult...”

Great hotel, nice staff. The front desk tries to help when they can and the concierge service is helpful too. Our room was nice however the bathroom needs a fan as it fogs up the entire room when you shower. Noticed ceiling damage due to water vapors. This is to be expected when the fan system does not work. This in no way affected our stay. Location is a bit our of the way if your activities are always on the other side of the river.

“Good Hotel”

Although, in Cambridge it is very easy to get into Boston. The rooms are a good size and has up-to-date facilities and were very clean. We had a hire car which was unnecessary for a 3 day trip to Boston. Car paking at the hotel was not cheap

“A shopper's paradise!”

The hotel provided the level of comfort and amenities required by three tired teachers on a "girls" (well, ladies')trip to Boston at the end of a long summer term. First time for 2 of us. It was terrific - the service was excellent, food very good and it is well situated for all you could possibly want to do on a visit to Boston. The hotel can organise trips to Wrentham Village (a huge shopping mall), a trip on a DUCK, a courtesy sail on the Charles River, all to be recommended. We were so impressed that we are going to go again next year (still to tell our husbands). Well done Royal Sonesta!
