“Just delightful....”
From the doorman to the front desk to the waitstaff at breakfast, everyone throughout the stay, was extremely cordial and helpful..... a perfect get-a-away!!
“Not impressed”
We stayed at the Taj on a Friday and Saturday night. Our room was facing the Boston Garden and had a very lovely view, other than that one window's seal was broke so the window was fogged. The bathroom was small and cramped. Location is terrific for all Boston sights, within easy walking distance of Faneiul Hall and the Back Bay restaurants and shops. While breakfast was good and comparably priced for a starred hotel in Boston, drinks at their bar were outrageously expensive.
“The Taj is Tops”
Stayed at the Taj for one night. Everything was absolutely perfect from the car valet/check in to the spotless room. The hotel is right accross from the Boston Common and the start of the Freedom trail. Starbucks, clothing stores, and restaurants complete the neightborhood.
“Wonderful Boston Experience”
It was the first time in Boston for both my spouse and I. We had an absolutely wonderful time while seeing all the historical sites in Boston. The Taj Boston made our adventure alll that much more enjoyable. We were so close to so many of the sites we had intended to visit. The walk to many of our destinations were short and enjoyable. A wonderful hotel with a great staff!
“ritzy”
Having grown up in Boston, will always be The Ritz to me. I'm so glad The Taj chain made so few changes. There is an understated elegance to this place
“Favorite Boston Hotel”
The Taj has a location that can't be beat, right across from the beautiful Public Gardens and alongside Boston's best shopping area Newbury Street. It is quietly, unostenstatiously elegant. The dignified, professional service in the Cafe -- and the food -- can't be beat. We'll be back, as he have returned many times already.
“One of Boston's most luxurious hotels, yet is able to humble itself upon your arrival.”
Being my first time in Boston, I was completely clueless as to where to go and what to do, or where to eat. I was visiting Boston Universitie's campus and decided to spend the weekend in an impromptu mini-vacation. Upon arriving at the Taj Boston the doorman immediately opened the car door and welcomed us to the hotel. He sent for a bell hop and went around opening each door of the car. The bell hop requested for the trunk to be opened and he grabbed each piece of luggage and placed it carefully on the caddy. Once inside the the reception was extremely kind and polite. Our rooms were very spacious and comfy. The beds were soft and the pillows cool. A completely stocked mini bar complimented the large flat screen TV. The cleanliness of the room was impeccable; I felt as if i was in my own bathroom. The extreme effort put into the tiniest detail was what completely blew me away. This stay was amazing and the Taj Boston is truly what it says to be. BUT the best part of the hotel would have to be without a doubt the concierge. They were so kind, humble, and FRIENDLY. They made my trip so easy. They found the best eateries in town and found the greatest attractions. I only used the rooms for sleeping because they offered so many things for tourists to do. I LOVED them. They make me want to come back just so they can make my reservation at the greatest French bistro in Boston. My recommendation, with out a doubt visit this hotel. P.S ask for Jyll at the concierge!
“For the first time it was good - not great”
I stay at this hotel 4-5 times a year. My last stay was the first time I was not extremely happy with the service. Everything was excellent - except the front desk staff was different and while friendly, not up to par with the impeccable service I have received in the past. This is not a big grand hotel, but a more comfortable almost cozy luxury hotel. restaurant is decent, but IMHO the bar has great old world charm. I have always found the hotel well maintained and clean. The gym is reasonably well equipped and spacious, but there is no pool. Service as I mentioned earlier is very good - but not up to the standards of the better Taj properties in Asia.
“Taj Boston”
I was happy with everything except the bathroom - the shower did not work and the bath plug did not form a complete seal, so drained while I was in it. To be improved. Otherwise comfortable and the location just right.
“Very refined”
Very refined and elegant hotel. Very good service and staff. Terrific location. One minor complaint - no hair dryer. Overall very good.
