“Better than the standard fare”

Classic old school hotel where service is king. Decor is tasteful and amenities are aplenty. Seems to attract an older clientele, so don’t look for a trendy in-house café or bar (adequate only), but the hotel’s location right between Back Bay and Beacon Hill (and just 2 blocks from the Arlington green line “T” station) more than makes up for any perceived short comings here. In addition, for fitness enthusiests – the hotel’s fitness room (actually 2 adjoined) is big and well appointed, and the hotel is only 3 blocks from a pedestrian overpass leading to the trail the runs along the river. Great place to stay.

“The best of Boston”

I have been coming to boston 6 - 7 times a year for the past four years. This is my vote for the best hotel in Boston. The staff is amazing, the service is great I truly had a wonderful stay. Even if you do not stay at the hotel, its restaurant is amazing! A definite must go in boston.

“Expensive, but worth it”

Great, old line hotel (formerly was the Ritz-Carlton). Very expensive room service, but quality of both the food and its delivery were very high. Spacious, clean room, and fabulous location (right across from the Public Garden and also located at the "beginning" of Back Bay). Elegant lounge with accomplished pianist.

“Best location in Boston!”

Probably the best traditional hotel in Boston, the Taj sits proudly on the corner of Arlington and Newbury Streets, giving guests easy access to Boston's best shopping and dining. The hotel goes above and beyond with outstanding personal sevice from the moment you step through the door. We had the pleasure of staying there for a few days over New Year's and were delighted with the whole experience. We have stayed at many other Boston Hotels, but this has been by far the best.

“SUPERB STAFF AND GREAT COMFORT”

The above sums it up. Even with a total blackout in Boston the morning I was leaving, the staff were right there for me. Well done.
