Location, location, location.

Pros: Staff and food. And cleanliness.
Cons: Needs a complete overall and refurbishment.
Location: Everything: Newbury Street, Copely Square, Charles Street, etc.
You cannot beat the location of this hotel. It is in the center of everything. Hotel and hotel rooms needs some serious updating and refurbishment. But the hotel and rooms are clean and smell fresh. Staff are so nice. We had dinner in The Bar and had the best hamburgers ever.

City Escape from the Suburbs

Posted Jan 5, 2015
Cons: Bathroom lighting, carpet in hallways.
Location: Perfect!!! Centrally located.
We came into town for 2 nights to enjoy the city, lights, restaurants, ice skating . . . We thoroughly enjoyed the Taj. It wasn't the nicest hotel we have stayed in, but clean, comfortable with courteous staff. If you are from out of town, the location is an ideal way to see the best of Boston. Boston is a very walkable city and the Taj is right in the center of it all. The only meal we had at the hotel was breakfast. It was just ok. Room was a bit small, but lovely and fit with the character of an older, historic-type Boston building. Hallway carpets could use an upgrade. Lighting in the bathroom could be a little brighter for putting makeup on. Bed was very comfortable and view was terrific. I would stay here again. And if coming from out of town, I would definitely recommend.

Pros: Great location.
This is a beautiful hotel in a great location. Our king room was large and overlooked the Public Garden. The gym was great too! We will definitely stay here again.

Best of Boston's hotel venues. Elegant but not pretentious. Friendly and gracious staff.
