Excellent hotel with superior service

Posted Jul 20, 2014
Pros: Location, cost, courtesy of staff, large room, look of the hotel
Cons: Offer coffee in the lobby for hotel guests in the morning (even if you charge)
Location: near great restaurants and shopping. The park is right across the street and offers street musicians, gardens, swan boat rides
This was second visit to this hotel. Immediately, you are greeted by front desk staff who walked us to our elevator and could not do enough for us. The hotel room was large and comfortable and internet access was free. The entire hotel is clean and well designed. All staff were friendly and accommodating. The hotel is in a great location at the start of Newbury street and across from the park.

Best location in Boston!

Posted Jul 16, 2014
Pros: Location. Friendly, attentive staff. Service. Views. Comfortable suite.
Cons: Breakfast wildly overpriced at $20 for a bowl of berries and a corner of a small small piece of banana bread. Really?
Location: Adjacent to Public Garden, Boston Commons. Walk to historic Beacon Hill, Mass. State Department, Newbury St shops & cafes, Copley Plaza, BackBay, T
We loved this location with a spectacular view of the Public Garden and so walkable to Beacon Hill and all of the shopping and restaurants along Newbury St. and the Back Bay. The staff was friendly and attentive, our suite was a nice escape from the city noise and heat with sweeping city vistas, and the walkability couldn't have been better to the train and all of the places we would like to go.

Perfect location off the Commons

Posted Jul 16, 2014
Pros: Large, comfortable room.
Cons: You pay a high premium for the location.
Spectacular location across the street from the Commons and a block from the T. Easy access to footbridge that takes you right to the Charles. We had an interior room, so lacked some of the best views of the city, but was HUGE. Extremely easy check-in and out with a staff that was very willing to fill your needs.

Clean and great location

My wife and I recently spent a night and next day in Boston. We stayed at the Taj and it was great. We walked through Boston Commons to dinner that night, since the Commons is directly across the street. All staff was friendly and helpful, especially when we needed directions to Logan. The valet had them right there for us when we picked up our rental. Over all, a great stay.

Very comfortable

Posted Jul 11, 2014
Pros: Good location, comfortable room, good bed and bath
Cons: They charged me $11 a day for internet; that's like charging for electricity or water. Modest room service for 2 was over $40 for breakfast
Location: Across from great active park, great views, good restaurants in Beacon Hill across the park
Very nice stay. Good location, a little overpriced and too much nickel and dime charges

Friendliest staff in Boston.

Have stayed in many of the hotels in Boston and the employees at the Taj are by far the nicest people. Everyone took the time to say hello ask about your day and strike up a real conversation. I felt like I mattered at the Taj.

Beautiful views

Posted Jul 7, 2014
The Taj is in the perfect location with beautiful views of the city and Public Gardens. Our only issues were that the room was very warm, even with the AC all the way up, and there was no top sheet, only a bottom sheet and duvet. I know this is common in Europe, but given the temperature of the room we would have loved to sleep with just a top sheet over us. The hotel itself is beautiful with amazing details everywhere.
