Pros: Service, room size, comfort, location
Location: Tons of shops and restaurants on Newberry Street. Quick cab ride to Fenway.
Hotel staff was top notch. Excellent service and amenities. Bathroom a bit small, but to be expected in an older hotel. Close to shops on Newberry Street. Expedia upgraded us to a suite, perfect stay!

Excellent HotelPosted Apr 7, 2014
Pros: Staff by far was really polite and awesome.
Cons: Cleanliness during the stay.
Location: Drink at the hotel bar, it is amazing; and eat at the hotel restaurant.
This was a great hotel and experience. They do not do a good job vacuuming during your stay. However, if you call them and request a vacuum they will do do it.

Pamper yourself with a stay at the Taj BostonPosted Apr 6, 2014
Pros: location on Newbury St.,elegance, great ammentities: bar/lounge, restaurant, gym, store city view
Cons: Offer better rates more often
Location: Newbury St has great shopping opportunities, many restaurants. The park is right across the street. Close to theatres
To start, the Taj Boston is in a great location at the lower end of Newbury St. This places the hotel near the park and near numerous restaurants and shopping. The hotel itself immediately has an upscale feel, with fine table cloths, a wonderful bar/lounge and an elegant lobby. The room was larger than most that I have stayed in for the price. The television was large. I think the bed was topped with a feather bed, which was very comfortable. The bath shower area is a good size with a powerful shower and offers the use of two fluffy bathrobes. We also had an incredible view of the city. As elegant as the hotel is, I was surprised that use of the internet service was only 10.95. A beer in the lounge was $6.50, and meals were not outrageous. We also had a great discount on the room for the one night which was cheaper than the hotels that we usually stay at. Needless to say, this was a 5 star experience, which we hope to repeat.

Pros: location, staff, clean
Cons: Room was HOT! Turned heat of and thankfully could open the windows a few inches. Spoke to front desk, acted like they were going to do something.
Location: In a very nice section close to shopping, the park and the freedom trail.
Staff is very friendly. Room clean. Bed and pillows comfortable.

Ideal locationPosted Mar 31, 2014
Pros: Well situated. Clean. Beautiful flowers. Nice service.
Cons: Coffee pots in rooms. Just know that everything additional at this hotel will be very expensive, from a simple cup of coffee to food and drink.
Location: The Taj Boston is close to all the stops on the Freedom Trail.
This is a lovely hotel, located overlooking the Public Garden, convenient to so many of the wonderful historic sites, as well as to designer and mainstream retail stores. Situated between the beautiful buildings on Beacon Street and the upscale shopping on Newberry. Lots of care is taken at the Taj with floral arrangements, which are really stunning and change every couple of days. I wish I had known at the beginning of a three-day stay that I could request a coffee pot in the room to make a quick cup in the morning. They don't tell you this. It would be nice to have a cup of coffee to go with the complimentary newspaper ... In order to get that, you have to get dressed and go to the Café or the Express Breakfast area (Coffee in a paper cup: $5). Or go out somewhere and get one to bring back. OR, room service. That simple indulgence costs $13-$15 for a two-cup pot! ($8 for the coffee, $4 delivery fee and 18% automatic gratuity. And who doesn't give the room service guy a couple of bucks?)

Superb HotelPosted Mar 28, 2014
Pros: The location is fantastic and the service is outstanding--friendly and helpful.
Cons: The Internet policy needs updating.
Location: The Back Bay location allows great access to the Boston Commons and great shopping. Easy transport options to art museums.
We loved our stay. Our room overlooking the park was well appointed and comfortable, the outlook so lovely we slept with the curtains open. I also appreciated the gym. And the Indian food is spectacular.

Fantastic locationPosted Mar 24, 2014
Pros: The location, old world charm.
Cons: Rooms are a little tired, especially the carpeting. The draperies were nasty where the HVAC unit blows on them. Yick!
Location: Fantastic location. Convenient to the Theatre District, great restaurants and shopping. Valet parking is pricey.
Overnight weekend stay was very enjoyable. Beautiful old world charm, service is over the top and the breakfast at the Cafe was delicious. Great spot to go to a show, shop, or just walk around beautiful Boston. No problem accomodating early check-in, very helpful and attentive staff.
