Anniversairy

Posted Dec 15, 2014
Stayed overnight for my anniversairy. Upon check-in I told the front desk person that we were here for our anniversairy and I asked if there were any upgrades and she reponded, "I'm looking for that now". We were upgraded to an executive suite for no charge. Room was very clean and lovely. The suite had a woodburning fireplace that we used twice. Both times we requested a fire the "fireplace butler" was there in a matter of no more than 5 minutes. Very personable gentlemen and they made a lovely fire. We enjoyed our stay tremendously and would stay again. Location is terrific. Loved this place.

They need to update their rooms. Dirty sofas and chairs. I felt that they gave a handicap room.

Like home and great location

Posted Dec 6, 2014
Pros: Large rooms for a major city. Bright . Excellent, upscale location.
Cons: Needs some polish and updating.
Location: Great upscale shopping and restaurants.
Although the rooms could use a bit of an update, with slightly more amenities and polish, the location was excellent and the feeling very comfortable and bright. Downstairs bar very relaxing and perfect for after dinner drinks and conversation.

girls weekend away

Pros: staff, spacious room, the bed and the bedding were divine
Location: as above, all about the shopping but if visiting the city to have the commons and the public gardens at your front door is a plus
great location for shopping, close to winter crossing and all the shops/ restaurants on Newberry st. The Taj maintains the qualities of the old Ritz which we Bostonians loved so much, especially the amazing helpful staff. It was a pleasure to get back to this great old world hotel. We shall be back, thank you

great hotel in a terrific location

Posted Nov 25, 2014
The hotel is wonderful. I can't say enough about the quality of the staff. They are attentive and friendly without being intrusive. My only criticism is I would have liked lights in the bathroom on a dimmer switch. The bathrooms are too dim for applying makeup but are just right for taking a soothing hot bath. The rooms are immaculate and spacious. I will definitely stay at the Ta

Great location. Staff variable level of friendliness. No top sheet on bed. When asked the housekeeping staff handed us the sheet. Later his supervisor claimed laziness on his part...and that he was adequately trained.
