The complementary upgrade

Posted Dec 15, 2014
Pros: Staff
Cons: Decor
Location: Satisfactory
This is our second hotel stop en route to NYC both have boasted complementary upgrades, what a load of twaddle. If room 1130 is an upgrade we would hate to have been in our nominated room. Much of the fixtures were chipped and International travellers who may prefer tea were toally overlooked. No means of boiling water other than a very slow coffee machine not to mention a lack of tea bags. Bedding was totally over the top and to remove excess pillows and cushions in order to get into bed was an onerous task. That being said the staff were polite and friendly, however the restaurant staff were found wanting on a busy Saturday night. Yes we had a satisfactory experience but would we recommend to others, We don't think so. Ps. A masters degree in plumbing would an advantage if you wish to have a hot shower. Tap assembly requires attention

Perfect for the Occassion

Posted Dec 9, 2014
My wife and I went to the Nutcracker and then out with some friends, the Colonade was a perfect hotel to come back to. We've always enjoyed staying here and will be coming back, make sure you get the Luxe room with a view. Dog friendly with no extra fee is always a plus for people that bring their pups everywhere.

Heart of Back Bay

Posted Dec 9, 2014
Fantastic setting overlooking the Prudential Center and an amazing view of the Prudential Tower, this is where to stay in Boston! The Colonnade Hotel is a fantastic boutique hotel that compares to the W or nicer places on the Vegas strip like the Cosmopolitan or ARIA resorts.

Best location in Back Bay!

Posted Nov 25, 2014
Pros: Location, Design, Staff, Views
Cons: The centrally controlled heat was a little warm, but thankfully the windows opened some.
Location: Everything in Back Bay was at your finger tips. Across from Prudential Center...full mall, great restaurants and the T-line entrance was right there.
This hotel was awesome and so convenient to Prudential Center and the T-line stop. Rooms were a little tight, but not a problem. Views were great, modern and updated decor and great staff. Plus, every afternoon there was free hot cider in the lobby to take the chill out of the November weather.

Clean and lovely

Cons: The food was not pleasing but there were plenty of places to eat outside the hotel.
The Colonnade was centrally located with charming rooms and a pleasant atmosphere.

Good location for Back Bay. Check in was a pleasant experience as was checkout. Door men and Concierge were helpful and friendly. Facilities becoming a little old.

Terrible facility. Lots of maintenance issues. AC and light bulbs. Manager would not help or give refund.

Better alternative to nearby hotels

Posted Nov 11, 2014
Cons: The restaurant, Brasserie Jo, is average. It thinks much too highly of itself, but the menu is limited, and brunch is handled poorly.
Without question, the Colonnade is more sophisticated, comfortable, and well-maintained than the Sheraton Prudential. I think that it is a much better alternative to those attending a business conference at the Hynes Convention Center. The proximity to restaurants on Columbus Ave. is also nice.
