Pros: Location, luxurious feel and comfort
Cons: Entrance foyer slightly cramped -there was a rather ugly small extra dining area en route to the dining room breakfast area that seemed superfluous.
Location: Great location -hand to Civic buildings in Copley Square, Fenway Park, the River, the Art Museums. Good restaurants and shops around the corner.
This hotel is almost perfect- elegant, stately and yet with modern comfort. Handy to Copley square, good shops and restaurants and a short walk to the Art museums and Fenway parks. The footman at the door was a legend -helping with temporary car parking, advice about local cafes and advising about public transport while doing all his usual duties- helping with luggage etc. Other staff also helpful and pleasant.

We stayed previously at this hotel so we know it well. Great location for us and a real boutique feel. Great staff. One issue: we could not get a drink at 11 pm on a Friday night. The adjoining bar/restaurant (under separate management) would not seat us despite having room (they said they were closing). They instead pointed us to a bar about a 10 minute walk away. At 11 pm, on a Friday. Really? And when we returned the adjoining bar was still going strong. Perhaps it was my grey hair . . .

We'd never been to Boston and were pleasantly surprised with the friendliness of the city and everyone. The hotel staff was wonderful from the doorman to housekeeper!

Pros: Appreciated the "grand old hotel" look and feel.
Cons: need better designed work space. Also need more counter top space in bathroom for shavers, toiletries, etc.
Location: they are fine.
I came to Boston for a board meeting. The room had inadequate lighting, lacked well designed and an adequate number of electrical outlets, the work table was too small, and the chair was way too low to comfortably work on a lap top.

We just stayed and the Eliot for the Boston Marathon. Hotel, staff and location could not have been more perfect! Cheers to the Eliot Hotel for supurb service! Well done!!

I chose a one bedroom suite. It was a tad smaller than the photos looked but really well appointed. There was a nice little foyer, a little room for coffee and mini bar and corridors between rooms. I asked for a front view which they accommodated. The valet was outstanding, timing cabs to the minute and helping with everything. They have old fashioned brass keys so you have to actually remember to leave them behind! Great location to run accross the bridge to MIT. We walked to the art museum and Newbury street easily. I travel a lot and recommend this one for old euro-style elegance and service.

A very tasteful hotel, but the grout in the bathroom needs a little cleaning. Room service was not worth what was charged - for instance, they offered ice cream sandwiches but could not offer a simple bowl of ice cream. Their grilled cheese sandwich was a greasy floppy mess; breakfast was much better. The Front Lobby and Doorman staff was very helpful, and made up for their room service quality (which was also very courteous, if truth be told).
