Hotel coquet à deux pas du MIT

Posted Dec 15, 2014
Très charmant et très original, Eliot est un petit bijou. Décor de style, service soigné et un Resto en bas vraiment délicieux (mais un peu cher). J'ai beaucoup aimé l'emplacement et l'ambiance. J'y retournerai.

Beauty and comfort in the Back Bay

Posted Dec 9, 2014
Pros: The historical character & ambience. The friendly staff. The beautiful location. Spacious, comfy suite.
Cons: Can't think of anything.
Location: In the Back Bay on the corner of Commonwealth & Mass Ave. Close to Fenway Park, Prudential Center, Mulberry shopping street, Back Bay Amtrak Station.
The Eliot is a lovely hotel in the beautiful Back Bay area. It is in a period building and has kept the historical look on the inside with updated amenities. I marveled each time how beautiful the elevator was (& how well it worked compared to the modern, bigger one we'd just used in our hotel in NYC). We had a suite - it was spacious & very comfortable for 3 people. The staff from the doormen to desk staff to the waiters in the restaurants were all friendly & helpful. We didn't get a chance to have Dinner at Clio's though we had wonderful breakfasts in that restaurant every morning. We did eat in the Sashimi bar/restaurant called Uni. Inventive, upscale sashimi offerings on the pricy side. Was rated the number 2 restaurant in Boston in a Boston lifestyle magazine. Across the street we had a memorable Thanksgiving dinner at Deuxave - a modern take on the French Bistro. It is not in heart of Boston but a short ride on the T subway or can walk. About 20-30 minute walk to Boston Commons. We walked all the way to the North End. We were so glad we stayed at the Eliot. It more than met our aesthetic expectations & our needs as a tourist.

Very lovely hotel - old fashioned values

Posted Dec 7, 2014
Pros: Very pretty and traditional, good back bay location.
Cons: Coffee or tea making facilities in room
Location: Shopping mall 5 mins away Fenway park baseball stadium 5 mins away T station round the corner
I have just returned from a 6 night stay with 3 friends at the Eliot hotel in Boston. We had really lovely rooms my friends were lucky enough to be upgraded to a suite which was gorgeous. The walk to the prudential centre shops was 5 minutes with lovely restaurants and shops on the way. The staff were all very courteous and friendly and efficient. One small thing - there were no coffee it tea making facilities in the room which we did miss. All in all very satisfied with the old fashioned traditional feel to this lovely hotel.

Nice Hotel

Posted Dec 2, 2014
Pros: Size. Location.
Cons: Different pillows. Lighter blanket. Would like a fridge in room and not just the mini bar.
Location: Great location
Staff was very pleasant. Down comforter was to heavy. Small bathroom. Really not a problem. Would certainly go back.

Nice city hotel.

Posted Dec 2, 2014
Pros: Continental breakfast buffet is well priced and coffee is good. The rooms and suites are ample in size and well appointed. Turn down service at night.
Cons: Continental breakfast buffet - bagels somewhat stale, croissants and bread items are boring, fruit is bland and eggs are hard boiled and cold.
Location: Great location in Boston's Back Bay. Newberry Street shopping and restaurants, subway stop, and and airport shuttle all close.
Well functioning city hotel with intimate feel. Professional staff.

Pros: Living room, Beds, mini-bar
Cons: Bigger bathrooms???
Location: Newbury Street is gorgeous and has everything one could want! LOVE Sonsies Restaurant!!
The Eliot Hotel is right next to my favorite street in Boston - Newbury St. The hotel itself is DELIGHTFUL!! Super comfortable beds and linens. We were so surprised at the spacious living room as a part of our room. The customer service was perfect. Can't imagine wanting to stay anywhere else in Back Bay!!
