Polished, clean, comfortable

Excellent. Perfect for long weekend in Boston. Exemplary staff. Luxurious touches. Crisp, clean scents throughout. Staff informative, polite, and helpful. Room very clean. "Black-out" curtains ideal for sleeping in. Room service was prompt. Doorman very helpful w/luggage and hailing cabs. Short walk to Faneuil Hall. We strolled up to a couple pubs near Faneuil, and continued the short walk into the North End for unbelievable Italian dinner. Will definitely be staying at the Langham again.

Snooty and pretentious unwelcoming concierge

Posted Nov 17, 2014
The lobby was full of well dressed business men and escorts. Traveled with a child and upon arrival men at the front desk were busy all three of them on there phones. I stood in front of them for at least 10 mins before anyone looked up. When I told them we had a child with our group they snickered. Guest services?? Not really... We walked into a room that was heavily perfumed. It automatically caused my throat to close and eyes to water. When we called down to the front desk to change rooms we were told that it was the hotels signature scent. We were denied a new room. Moments later a man arrived with what he called a "smoke tab"... It just happened to be the same awful scent that was already in the room. He removed the pre-existing "smoke tab" and brought us a fan instead. We let the room air out and ordered room service. A robe was sent for my child that had been bleached and possible starched. Awful. Room service was terrible and overpriced. The very sad part about this hotel is that there is an obvious disconnect between the front desk (pretentious and unaccommodating) and the people who actually do work there... Maintenance, house keeping, valet, all very nice. Would not stay there again.

Very luxury hotel

Posted Nov 11, 2014
Pros: Anyone
Location: Few minutes walk from downtown and station. Very quiet and safe location.
I felt like a kid from Home Alone! My room was king size and the furniture they had was very antique and cute. I enjoyed very spacious well decorated room and amazing room service food.

Didn't want to leave.

Posted Nov 10, 2014
Pros: Service was excellent.
Cons: We stayed three people at each rooms and paid extra for it but coffee and cups were prepared only for two.
Location: Many sight seeing spots were close and walking distance.
Room is large and clean. Has coffee maker, slippers, an iron, robes and many amenities. I asked to make restaurant reservation at concierge desk and the restaurant treated us as V.I.P guests with special menu and complimentary desert. My nephew enjoined swimming poor as well. He asked to stay more and didn't want leave!

Good hotel near to Quincy market.

Posted Oct 19, 2014
Pros: Good location
Cons: Felt tourists were not so important to the staff as business people charging to expenses
Location: Near to Quincy market entertainments and eating places
Used mostly by business people. Lots of conferences in the hotel. Hard to get a seat in the lounge bar. Very high prices in the bars etc.

First time stay at The Langham

Posted Oct 10, 2014
Pros: Comfortable
Cons: Dated - modernise
Comfortable but dated. Bathroom needs a shelf to lay out the contents of your wash bag close to the basin. Only shelf available was already full ! The sound dock/alarm on bedside table had no instructions. There was no powerpoint close to bed to charge iPhone overnight whilst using as an alarm.

scope for improvement

Posted Sep 24, 2014
Pros: Gym facilities
Cons: Food, dining experience, staff training
Location: Boston is small so can walk to most places. Short walk to wharf, boat trips whale watching, aquarium, tourist bus
Breakfast expensive and poor. Food not a strong point at this Hotel. Service mixed and not up to 5*. Concierge /front desk 'willing' but will only answer a specific question. They do not think out of the box regarding your possible needs. Did not provide adjoining rooms as requested at booking. This was some months in advance and while there were under no obligation they should have done better (though did offer to sort during visit).
