Classic hotel as Boston headquarters

Posted Jun 7, 2015
The Lenox enjoys an excellent location just a few steps from the T's Copley station and Copley Square. Though the views from our rooms (we booked 3) were nothing to rave about, the hotel's interior was imbued with old world elegance. The rooms were comfortable and included modern amenities such as large flat-screened TVs and free wi-fi. While complimentary morning tea and coffee were provided in the lobby, it would have been nice to have had an in-room coffee maker. The staff was wonderful. They were friendly, helpful, and seemed to have our best interests in mind. What a welcome change that they also seemed to enjoy their work! We were given the wrong keys to one of our rooms initially, but this was quickly remedied and the front desk was very pleasant. We enjoyed two breakfasts at City Table and were particularly impressed by one of our waiters who had been with the hotel for many years. Our experience at City Bar was o.k. We enjoyed the atmosphere; but my Tom Collins was off and the bartender was not particularly attentive or friendly. Your experience will depend on your bartender. You can also walk a block to the Oak Room bar at the Fairmont. My son used the fitness room and was pleased with the equipment (including ellipticals) and generous water and towels. The hotel is in the city, so expect some city sounds, including an occasional street musician nearby. I loved being able to walk to nearby Newbury Street with its many restaurants and shops, or hop on the T.

Cons: More Drawer space for clothes, of the 3 room we had only one had a decent drawer dresser.
Staff very attentive, responsive and friendly. Excellent location in downtown back bay Boston

What an excellent Hotel

Posted May 31, 2015
Pros: Everything, it is a hotel that takes care of its customers in the right way.
Cons: Nothing
Location: Next door to the world famous Boston library, a couple of blocks from Newbury Street, this is where the posh shops and restaurants are.
This an excellent hotel to stay in and we were well looked after. It is situated in a suitable location which is just next door to the wonderful library and a couple of blocks from Newbury Street where all the restaurants and shops are. The hotel facilities are great, they have free Wi-Fi, gym, tea and coffee in the mornings for guests in the lobby and the staff cannot do enough for you. I would recommend if to anyone that is visiting Boston.

Great Back Bay location.

We love The Lenox! Was out first stay and will go back again. The staff was great, especially the group of guys on the Valet staff. They went above and beyond to help us with an overheated vehicle, they didn't have to help us at all, but they did and we were so grateful. I can't imagine any other hotel in that area where the Valet staff would have been as helpful.

Fantastic location excellent welcome

Great hotel in superb position for exploring all Boston has to offer. Lots of character, only criticism would be that bathroom lacked space for 3 people sharing. Staff superb and couldn't have been more helpful.
