Not a Bad Jail to Spend a Night In

Posted Feb 25, 2015
Pros: Well appointed rooms; quiet;
Cons: Can't imagine what could be done better.
Location: Convenient to Mass General Hospital, and other great medical facilities; convenient to Cambridge and Boston, state and Federal buildings.
From the outset, the staff were very welcoming. The Doorman took care of our car and we were whisked right up to the reception. Check-in was quick and they offered champagne to welcome us. The rooms are located in the new annex and the room was very clean and extremely well appointed. The bathroom is large and 2 soft bath robes and slippers are provided. Multiple sets of glasses and alcoholic beverages were out on the credenza. We ate at Scampo's, one of the five restaurants, and it was delicious. All of the socializing activities occur in the old Jail section so that the rooms were very quiet. The next day we had appointments at Mass General and they kept the car until 4 PM, so that we could make our appointments and not have to worry about parking. Excellent hotel and we would definitely go back and recommend it to anyone.

Special Needs

Posted Feb 22, 2015
Pros: location, gluten free capability and knowledge, room comfort
Cons: no staff immediately present at front desk. A bit confusing where to check in.
Location: Hospital, Train, Quincy Market centrally located
A diabetic celiac I found this hotel pleasantly & safely accomodating during my stay to see my new doctor at Massachusettes General Hospital right next door to the hotel. They fulfilled all my needs by de feathering my room, provided delicious gluten free coffee, the T was right out front and CVS across the street. My husband enjoyed both restaurants Scampo for dinner and Klink for breakfast suggesting this be our go to hotel every time we visit Boston.

Great hotel near everything.

We travelled to Boston during the recent snow storms. The Liberty and staff were super helpful and friendly. This was the third time we stayed at this hotel and will return. The area is beautiful and you can walk to everything.

Hotel close to the hospital

Posted Feb 21, 2015
Staff was professional, friendly and accommodating. My daughter took my wife overnight because she is a patient at the hospital. Due to some unfortunate problems my wifes appointment ended much earlier than normal. She was not feeling well so my daughter called the hotel and asked if it was possible to get an early check in due to medical problems. Without hesitation they were kind enough to get us into a room immediately. Things like this at a time like this is what makes us realize how wonderful people can be. Thank you.

Beautiful and historical

Posted Feb 15, 2015
Pros: History, location, comfort
Cons: I can't think of anything.
Location: Boston is your playground! A stone throw from easy to use subway system. See a game, concert or historic locations. A beautiful walkable city.
Jail turned beautiful hotel! Beautiful views of Boston, very close to public transportation. Room was well appointed, clean and comfortable. Staff was helpful and friendly. I enjoyed learning the history of the Charles Street Jail, and seeing pieces of the original jail. I highly recommend this hotel, and would not hesitate to stay here again.

Downtown hotel close to amenities.

Posted Feb 11, 2015
Pros: Close to amenities.
Cons: Loyalty to people paying for rooms.
The room we were given was extremely noisy -- the had a bar set up right outside the door and the music was extremely loud - we were told this was deluxe room! Seems the hotels caters more to the Friday/Saturday drop in crowd rather than travellers who pay and stay in rooms. Also staff not very accommodating when we were stuck in town an extra day due to weather , they would not give provide us a room for an additional night it neede to be for 2 additional nights. Left us scrambling to find another hotel!,
