Good value for central hotel

Posted May 22, 2015
We had a very large room with comfortable beds. The hotel is in the middle of everything and we walked everywhere but cabs and the T were nearby. The hotel could use updating but for the price and location it was a good value.

above expectations

Posted May 21, 2015
I was traveling on business during commencement week and ended up staying here as hotels were booked in the Boston area. I went in with fairly low expectations and was pleasantly surprised by my stay at the hotel. The staff was friendly and attentive and they seem to be renovating some of the rooms. The location is superb.

Disappointing, but good location

Posted May 18, 2015
Pros: Location!
Cons: Needs updating.
Location: Near the T. Can travel anywhere easily.
Facilities were disappointing. More like a budget motel than a full-service hotel. But the location is great. Within walking distance of the T and many destinations.

Cons: Power points
Helped by staff with our booking and understandings Needs more power points in plain sight. Had to dig around for one. With dust on it! Convenient to everything. Would stay again due to pricing

I just wish that you had a lounge there. Other than that, it was very nice.

Economical and Convenient

Posted May 10, 2015
Pros: The Midtown has everything we look for in out-of-town lodging: Cleanliness, friendliness, location and economy.
Cons: I would have liked a diagram of the hotel lay-out to help me navigate the many labyrinthine corridors.
Location: I gave this information in detail in the "Write about your experience" box.
Five adult family members went to Boston May 5-8, 2015 and stayed four nights at the Midtown. The hotel met all our needs --- which do not include frills such as a concierge and chocolates on our pillows. The rooms were roomy enough for three adults, the beds were comfortable, the towels were thick and plentiful, and the coffee provided for the in-room coffee maker was better than most. The staff was very helpful on the severalThe location was perfect: just a ten minute walk in either direction got us to a T stop that gave us access to any part of the city. There were many interesting sites within walking distance. We visited the beautiful public library and its fantastic exhibitions in Copley Square, where we also toured Trinity Church and took in the view from the top of The Prudential Center. We took a taxi for $10 to Fenway for a Red Socks game then walked back to the hotel among crowds of festive baseball fans. Although we are not Christian Scientists, we were happy to find our hotel just across the street from the Christian Science World Research Center with its beautiful grounds and the amazing Mapparium. Enjoying the perfect weather, we walked the mile up Huntington Avenue to the incredible Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum --- the most eclectic collection of art in the world. Of course, we walked the Freedom Trail, the Commons and Public Garden, and Beacon Hill. We did some shopping at Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, and had exquisite Italian food in the North End.
