“short stay”
we stayed, with our two young children, for two nights and two days. The location is very close to Boston so perfect for getting outside quickly with little ones but the surrounding streets are not the greatest. Having said that we had faultless service both in the hotel and restaurant and the interior was lovely
“Great location Check your bill before Checking out....”
Ritz is in a great location and has easy access to the commons and area. Rooms are of Ritz standards. Before checking out, make sure you are not double charged for your room. I have had several different Ritz hotels charge my card for the room again. They are very quick to correct, but it happen very regularly.
“lacks the wow factor for this class of hotel”
No in room coffee maker; do not appreciate paying extra for use of fitness center given the high price of the room. Staff as expected very friendly and professional.
“In a word Comfortable”
The room was very clean and comfortable with expected furnishings. I am a large person and the bed set a new standard in comfort! I did however expect more ambience from a hotel in this price range. My wife thourghly enjoyed reading her favorite book in front of the oversized fireplace while I attended my meetings. If not for the savings I received by booking through Expedia.com, I would have chosen another hotel for the money. The Ritz Carlton Boston Common was upscale but did not reach the level of excellence in my opinion for the money. But it was very close. It deserves the 41/2 star rating it was given. It was obvious attention to detail is an important feature at the Ritz Carlton. With the savings I receive through Expedia.com I would stay again an recommend to a friend.
“Not so Nice”
The rooms are teriffic. The service was marginal. Well below the usual Ritz standard. In adition, the location is not the best. The "Old Ritz" is in a much better spot.
“Not up to Ritz Carlton Standard”
Will not stay at this hotel again. I expected a fancy, upscale decor and ambience as befitting a Ritz Carlton and was very disappointed. This hotel has the look and feel of "plywood" and is without charm or grace. Does not come close to the quality of the former Ritz around the corner (now a Taj hotel!) or any other Ritz Carlton I have stayed at.. Had we not stayed on the club level and thus had club service (though not up to Ritz standard) this visit would have been a complete disapointment. The view from our room and from the club lounge were not pretty sights; ugly rooftops and utilities, The location near the historic Boston Common is great but because the hotel is down a side street there was no view of the garden or any good view of the beautiful Boston skyline from our room. What saved the visit was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff and the walking proximity to many of Boston's great shops, historic sites and the theatre district.
“Not impressed”
Expensive with fairly poor service ( mix up on food, no Breakfast room service request forms) Poor amenities (also didn't restock after full use of one product) Really isolated location- from shopping, museums, etc.

Then come back to Expedia and enjoy a faster, more secure experience.
